The name of the game is your willingness to participate in your life.

Be awake to life, inner and outer. When you wake up and the morning is beautiful, the sunrise clear and radiant, the air crisp, let it awaken you to God's presence here on the earth and the blessings of being able to share in that.

What does "essence" mean? And how can it be inside of you? Even when you consume something (a chocolate cake, a car, or even a relationship) you have only consumed the form. It is like the shell of a nut without the kernel, and that is why forms can never, ever satisfy. What you are really searching for is the kernel, the essence, the interior sense of fullness and satisfaction. But as long as you are looking "out there" you won't find that essence. It is "in here," already inside of you. And it is by manifesting your Spirit that you gain access to that hidden essence. Only by manifestation do you bring it out and put it to work in your life.

To improve your attitude, you can source your enthusiasm. At times, you may need to "Fake it until you make it." "Act as if you are happy" is one of John-Roger's many great suggestions. So if you want to be happy, do happy things. If you want to be healthy, do healthy things. If you want to be peaceful, do peaceful things.

In time, you'll learn to reconnect with enthusiasm as quickly as you take your next breath. Breathing in awareness and breathing out enthusiasm becomes as regular as your heartbeat. As you make a habit of continually reconnecting to God's energy, the Soul replaces the personality as the center of consciousness. The Soul will still use the body, mind, and emotions as the vehicles through which it functions in the world. But instead of being distracted by your personality, you will be living in the crystal clarity of the Soul.

Does enthusiasm ever wane? Yes, though it doesn't have to. True enthusiasm comes from participating with God's energy. When you're attuned to Spirit, this energy is unwavering. But unless you continually reconnect with the source, the spiritual energy within you will dissipate and eventually disappear. Therefore, it's essential to take time for yourself. Time alone, in silence, allows your true self to reawaken and reconnect with the Divine. Then Spirit can flow through your body, mind, and emotions, generating enthusiasm on which you can ride.

A first cousin of positive expectations, enthusiasm comes from the Greek word entheos, "having the god within." When we go deep inside -- past our thoughts, emotions, and doubts -- we can tap in to this spiritual energy and utilize it to improve our lives. We can also share it with others, making a tangible contribution to improving the world around us.

Riding our enthusiasm, we can accomplish things we never thought possible. Enthusiasm gives us the ability to stay focused and achieve what needs to be done with surprising ease. This is essential in today's frenzied world, where so often we rely on caffeine or adrenaline for an energy boost. Sure, we'll get a burst of energy from drinking a double espresso, or pushing ourselves to meet a deadline, but soon enough the effect wears off, leaving us exhausted. True enthusiasm is the natural way to energy that's long-lasting.

Find your trust in God as your partner, your unconditionally loving and most loyal friend. Do your best to connect with God. Allow that Holy Presence to infuse your humanity. As you practice that divine connection, you will begin to understand, which is the third law of Spirit. What follows is the fourth law of Spirit -- enthusiasm -- for your life exactly as it is with no need to be different.

Allow for acceptance, cooperation, enthusiasm, and then willingly, lovingly endure. Those things all keep tying together. So all we have to do is move into acceptance or cooperation or enthusiasm, and we don't have to be concerned about temptations.
