You don't have to defend anything, because they're free to come and they're free to go, and that's the only level of honesty in which you can work. If you try to defend their illusions, can you see the problem you will have? You may have to come to the point where you sound rude by saying, "Suit yourself." If they say, "Well, I'll listen," then you can say, "Great, then let's go on."
