Cultivating a spiritual life can be a challenge, because our bodies, minds, and emotions -- not to mention outside distractions -- are constantly vying for our attention. It can be difficult to have a quiet life, never mind an inner life. The idea that technology saves us time doesn't seem to be the reality. Nearly everyone I know has less time than ever before, and there are still only twenty-four hours in a day. Rather than saying we don't have enough time, it's more accurate to say we have too many options. As soon as we reduce our options, time opens up.
