Asking "for the highest good" is like a safety net because you are leaving it up to God. This sets in motion only that which is for your highest good.

Ask for the Light and the Traveler to help you release and clear anything that is not for your highest good. You can also do spiritual exercises, which is one of the best ways to clear any negativity, either within you or from anyone or anything else. And if there is any self-judgment, do self-forgiveness.

Q: I am afraid to desire something, even if I say, "for the highest good," because I don't want to get into a desire pattern. A: Wanting something and putting it in the Light doesn't automatically create a desire pattern. It's when you desire something to the point of total distraction that a desire pattern can be created. When you ask for the Light for the highest good in relation to something you want, it is then also important to let it go and forget about it. Just trust that if it's for the highest good, it will come forward, and if it isn't, it most likely won't.

It seems like there are more terrible things occurring on this planet than there have ever been before. We have had 2000 years of the Christ energy, influence, and information, and there are all these terrible things happening. Is being Christian a failure? Some people might look at it that way, but let's look at another point of view. Have you ever taken a bucket that's been sitting outside, turned on the hose to fill it with water, and had the water gush out of the hose really fast and, as it hits the bucket, all the dirt and debris that's in the bottom shoots up and all over you? You jump back and say, "Oh, my God, I've got junk all over me!" And it looks like there's more junk on you than there ever could have been in the bottom of that bucket. What we are seeing on the planet right now appears to be more junk than ever could have been in the bottom of the bucket. That's because Spirit is being shot into an area that is bringing it all up. The action of Spirit is bringing up all the junk and crud that's been sitting in the bottom of that bucket for centuries. It's being brought up to be dealt with. How do you deal with it? Skim it off. Then you put more water in the bottom of the bucket; you fill it until the junk floats up to the surface and falls away, and then the water flows up naturally clean and pure. Sending the Light for the highest good -- often and neutrally -- helps the bucket get clean. We can apply this analogy to some of the global situations that exist in our world right now. You can also apply it to things that happen in your own life.

Use the Light for protection. It is fundamental to put the Light around you when you get up, when you drive in a car or fly in a plane, when you go into any building, when you meet people or talk to them on the phone, when you return home, before you go to sleep at night, and so on. Place the Light between you and other people when you talk to them or are around them so that anything coming to you from them comes through the Light first. You can also send Light for the highest good ahead of you, to people in your life, situations happening in the world, and anything else that comes to mind. In other words, it is a good idea to work with the Light all the time.

When you do not see the perfection of the Light action and your path upon this planet, the action of the Light sometimes appears to be happenstance, and that can cause a form of suffering. For instance, one week you may call in the Light and find it really works for you and that everything in your life happens in a beautiful way. A week later you may call in the Light and find that nothing seems to happen the way it should. You say, "It didn't work." You feel the suffering. Did you ever consider that the rough time you seem to be having might be just what you need to help you grow, to help you lift into the next level of awareness? The Light always works for your highest good, though it may not be apparent to you what your highest good is.

When you feel separation or loneliness, look to what your ego is doing. Is it prompting you to act as if you are greater than others? Is it judging you as being less than others? Or more than others? Or both? Are you demanding that those around you fulfill your expectations? Have you become adversarial? Recognition has its place in this world and is fine when you can keep it in a balanced perspective. Have you sought recognition at the expense of a greater participation in Soul awareness? Perhaps there is some assignment in your life where the stakes seem high? Could you use this as an experiment to learn about your motivation? What happens when you are willing to question your motives? What happens when you reach into "the highest good of all"? If you would know Soul Transcendence, move your attention out of the ego and into greater honesty with yourself. More than speaking truthful words, be willing to honestly examine your motives and change your behavior in keeping with your learning. And as you move past the initial challenge this presents, you may find qualities of the Soul: freedom, joy, peace, loving and oneness.

The spiritual heart always knows the truth. Whenever you wonder how the spiritual heart can lead you, start by asking yourself, "Is this the right action for me?"

You might say, "I don't know what I'm doing, but I do the best I can." That's important. That's you doing your part of the partnering - becoming God's partner. And when you find yourself resisting, that's for you to deal with, knowing that your choices include such things as resisting, holding back, putting on the brakes, stopping, slowing down, or letting go to find God is moving you all along at the highest rate you can go. The Mystical Traveler is working in all of that at both the slowest rate and the highest rate because it's the Traveler's nature to be with you according to what you can handle, allow and choose to create. The direction is towards the highest rate that is the highest good of all concerned.

What you make of your life really is for you to decide. Choices are freely presented to you, such as children, marriage, where you live and what you do. When things don't seem to work out, you might want to consider that your best intentions may not have been so great. If you were to look at it from a more distant, neutral perspective you might see that some things you entered into really were not for the best and that you created some things for yourself that you didn't need. The Soul carries the very best intention which is for the highest good of all concerned. That translates to taking into consideration all things. We may not have any idea what that is, but we can know enough to realize that the overall best is what we truly want. We can articulate that and then give it up to the One who always knows what is best overall: God.
