Although this seminar was given by John-Roger in 1971, it is tailor-made for those of us whose eyes, fingers and mind are constantly occupied with our smart phone, pod or pad.
J-R begins this way. “I’d like to look at a few things of the mind, because it seems to be a real hang-up with a lot of people. The mind is a recorder that records what goes on and we spend time trying to isolate and utilize what’s being recorded. This approach to life leads us into a tremendous amount of grief, because much information we receive cannot be catalogued and placed in any reference point other than just ‘information.’ ” J-R is pointing out that there’s not much we can do with the information that floods our brains and those surrogate brains that we call ‘smart.’
This seminar doesn’t disparage the tools we use these days. It does, however, make a case for those helpful times when, as J-R says, “We cease this running mentally hither and yon, and we stop programming the recorder of the mind, so that we can then know ‘peace be still.’ We can let this essence that is divine come forward and move our consciousness into it. When we’ve done this, then we are in a state of beingness, and the mind is quieted. The emotions are quieted. Physical activity is balanced, and we enter into a sense of bliss.”
If you could use a little of that bliss, let J-R show you how to get there.
God Bless You!
