How would you answer the question posed by the title of John-Roger’s seminar? Would you focus on how your ideal partner looks? Or how much wealth may be present? Or whether they are fun to be with?
In this seminar, J-R looks at those levels and he speaks of the importance of knowing what works and what doesn’t. “Ultimately,” he says, “you’ll come to a point in all of your behavior when Spirit becomes the main focus and everything else will flow around that.” Now if you have your eye on that delightful-looking person across the room there, that J-R quote may mean little to you. That means, you are just where you should be in your spiritual growth!
Of course, J-R talks about relationships with others, encouraging us to get beyond our ego into a more expanded perspective. He says, “If we truly knew all the things in the world that are happening, I think that probably we’d have much more compassion for everything around us, including ourself.” Here’s what this compassion would look like: The Oneness that we all are. “You’ll be considering the other person”, he says, “at the same time that you’re considering yourself. So that everything you do is not a ‘me and them,’ it’s an ‘US.’ ”
