This is a very challenging seminar in which John-Roger holds up a mirror to our day-to-day lives and asks us to answer these vital questions: What’s your life goal? Who do you trust? “How do you decide how you will live in this form, in this world?” he asks. “Some things you have a choice on; some things you don’t. For instance, whether you will or will not live. Or breathe….
In the category of choice, J-R verbalizes how we (sometimes unconsciously) can move through stages from repetition to habit to addiction to obsession and compulsion (think of our comfort zones, for instance, or even how we learn something new like playing a piano). About these, he says, “These are all behaviors that push you, run you, control you. You don’t have much freedom at that point. The addiction — that thing you do over and over — you can control but you can’t stop it.
OK then, J-R goes on, “If we want something in life we must move near to it, close to it, next to it, but not in it,” because then we’ll be lost inside our addictive, incomplete life of the personality. He goes on to ask, if we want to live in Spirit, where do we have to be? The closest we can get to it, of course. And the closer we get, the more we’ll find our personality consciousness — that one we’ve been identifying ourselves with — as ‘corrupted.’
While he’s describing areas of our personalities, J-R also takes a look at shame, that ancient feeling we’ve all experienced. “It’s built into our genetic code,” he says, before he offers ways to work with it. “Trust is the element you have to deal with,” J-R states. “Can God be trusted? We’re often saying, ‘God can’t be trusted so therefore, I must interfere with what God does, in order to make things work. “Let this seminar be your guide into your personality consciousness, and see if there are different choices you might be making.
God Bless You!
