A California minister tells this story:
I went to the cash machine at the bank on a day that was 110 degrees. The parking lot was empty.
A woman was at the machine who had shopping bags with her and it was clear the transaction would not go through. I asked if I could assist and at that moment it went through.
I asked her if she had a car and realized I needed to bring forward my somewhat limited spanish vocabulary. She did not and mentioned a bus. So I asked if I could take her where she needed to be. She thanked me and got in my car. I asked what time the bus would arrive as it was too hot to stand outside for long.
She said, “Dos minutos!”
We moved quickly. She got in the car and I headed out of the bank lot at top speed. She pointed to the bus stop location as the bus literally drove in front of us at the intersection where we were. I knew she needed to catch that bus or it could be a wait of another hour or more.
I checked – no cars – and I moved quickly, driving through a red light and pulled diagonally in front of the bus that was stopped to pick up other passengers.
“Gracias,” she said as she hopped out and got on to the bus.
My heart was full of joy and gratitude that God put me at that bank machine at the perfect moment and showed me what to do.
