You Can Serve — Write a Heartfelt Letter of Encouragement to People in Japan

You are probably aware by now of the kindness, courage and cooperation the Japanese people have been demonstrating to themselves and the world.

We plan to send heartfelt letters of encouragement to many adults currently in the relocation centers of Northern Japan! Just imagine how receiving such a letter would lift the spirits of those struggling to stay warm, fed and safe.

You are being invited to be a part of this act of service.

The plan is simple:

* Write your letter of loving support and encouragement in English (most Japanese are able to read English). If you hand write the letter, please be sure to print in block letters (no cursive).

* Enclose the letter in a sealed envelope and then place in another envelope addressed to:

Japan Letters
c/o Brightleaf

Charles Bernstein will get the letters to Steve Beimel in Japan, who will see that they are distributed to the shelters.

Please send your letters by April 25. Do not include money.
