The Wayshower Won Best Ensemble Cast for a Feature Film at the FirstGlance Film Festival, Hollywood (April 10, 2011)

John-Roger walked the red carpet and had his photo taken with cast before the screening.  The Wayshower won ‘Best Ensemble Cast’.  Our screening of The Wayshower was packed, close to sold out.  What an incredible night.  Thank you John-Roger.  Thank you FirstGlance Film Festival.

Jsu Garcia and John-Roger have crafted a journey towards self that translates into an intoxicating and ultimately enlightening film.”  – Ash Adams, Writer/Director, Once Fallen

What a blast last night … and to be a part of the FirstGlance Film Festival and to see The Wayshower showcased along with three short films.  Watching J-R and Jsu win the Best Ensemble Cast was absolutely thrilling and to be part of that ensemble … thank you God.

I also got to be interviewed as ‘Jeena’ (the waitress in the film) by Kelsey from the festival.  She said she had seen it over and over again, and it was just what she had been looking for in her life.  Posing with J-R, Jsu and Howard Lazar on the red carpet with the FirstGlance Film Festival artwork behind us felt like being at a mini Oscars.

The moment when Bill, the Director of the Festival called The Wayshower to receive the award, and Jsu was just so adorable as he received it, hearing the laughter and the sighs and applause and cheers.

Meeting and greeting with the other filmmakers and festival patrons who lovvvvved the film was like feeling the Light of the Christ and the Traveler in the Chaplin Theatre.

Thank you Zoe and Kelley for organizing all of us, this was my third time seeing it and it was astoundingly good. I experienced so much Light watching The Wayshower … Thank you J-R and Jsu for giving me the opportunity to play ‘Jeena’ the waitress … and in her words as written by J-R and Jsu … “I still have a crash on you” … the crush of a lifetime.”  – Sally Kirkland

I’ve seen the Wayshower about 7 times and I’m still catching the nuances of the teachings in the movie. There’s much beneath the surface of the movie that lends itself to a multi-dimensional experience.  I consider it a gift to receive the spiritual energy that J-R has infused into the movie and to give back by bringing my body to the screenings. Besides, it’s fun to see some of J-R’s stories come to life.”  – Jeeni Lawrence
