The Home of the Traveler was buzzing with activity late Friday afternoon, with lots of DSS students in town for the weekend, the MSS class down the street at Prana West, and ongoing preparations for the evening’s live seminar with our own dear Traveler, John Morton, which would begin at 7:30pm. At 4:30 we did an all-call to residents and staff asking them to park in the back and make room for our oncoming guests, and the assisting team for the live seminar met at 5pm to go over logistics. The chairs had been set up and the room prepared earlier, and the kitchen had been prepping all day for the lovely meal of sliced beef, brown rice, fresh wax beans, and a delicious salad with blue cheese dressing.

The smiling registration team was in place at their table when the crowd began to come in, some early for dinner, and some at the last minute just before the 7:30 start time. People found their seats, hugged one another, and greeted new and old friends, as the energy level rose to meet the occasion. NOW productions was in place behind their console with Roger and Matt, and Julie had the technology all lined up for streaming the event live over the internet. Thanks you guys. All was ready.

Handsome in his suit, John Morton, along with a radiant Leigh Taylor Young, arrived–and the energy stepped up again–with the Traveler in the house! We began right on time with the sweet MC Alethea Lamb welcoming the group and introducing the talented musicians Liz Bagish and Clara Jaramillo, who each gave wonderful heartfelt offerings, Liz on cello and voice and Clara singing with guitar. They set the stage for Spirit, and then Alethea introduced John. She said she first met him in England, and she had the sense his aura was huge when he first came into the room, and that she had been moved by his gentleness and loving presence.

Then John Morton took the stage. He started with an amazing meditation about letting go of what is no longer serving us, aligning ourselves with healing, and owning the beauty of who we are in Spirit. It was powerful. Then he proceeded to take questions the in-house audience had offered on cards when they came in, and some from the Internet audience as well. The answers were loving, sometimes funny, encouraging, universal and at the same time specific: what I have come to know as a Traveler trademark. John shared for about an hour and a half. The room was rapt with attention, as well as a sense of timeless being–that just being there was enough–and that the information being presented was like icing on the cake, with those who needed it partaking of their fill.
