Letting Go and Letting God — A Spiritual Spa Day at Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens

On November 11th, we had an awesome Spa Day at Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens. We had about 40 people participate and many were here for the first time. I love it when we get to share this beautiful place with new folks. I’m always moved to see it with fresh eyes myself.

I was the host and got to welcome the crowd and tell them a little about the place and the day. Then we introduced Karen and James Hassett, who did a terrific job offering the workshop: Letting Go and Letting God. They joyfully shared how circumstances in their lives had led to their needing to let go and welcome God in to take over.

They played excerpts from Dr. John-Roger’s tapes in between their sharings on the topic. They talked about how any time there’s something going on in life we don’t like or wouldn’t prefer, there’s always the opportunity to observe it, let it be, and embrace what’s present. A different way of looking at life.

Everyone was enthralled as Karen and James shared from their personal experiences in a way that we got the lesson in what they had learned. The balance of James’s easy story-telling style and Karen’s intuitive insights made for a really enjoyable morning. They ended the workshop by sharing two very special musical pieces, which they had each written, as an example of how inspiration can come through when we relax and have patience. Karen played a sublime piano piece, and James gifted us with an elegant guitar work. We were glad to be there.

After the morning workshop we had a fantastic brunch, prepared by the beautiful Elaine Kitchell and her crew of super volunteers. It was a glorious spread. The brunch was followed by a Labyrinth Workshop which is always so wonderful, seeing everyone passing and turning, pausing and stepping carefully, out on the stone labyrinth, silent and focused inside. Afterwards we all met again in the seminar room and concluded with sharing and a Light Meditation by John-Roger.

It’s such a joy to welcome folks to Prana and the labyrinth and gardens. We hope you’ll join us for the next Spa Day or just come by for a visit. You’ll be welcome.

A note from Carol Jones, Program Director: The next Spiritual Spa Day on January 27th will be facilitated by Elizabeth Davidson, MSIA minister and facilitator, author and insightful and genuinely funny public speaker. This Spa Day is entitled “God’s the Kind of Guy You Can Trust…or Spiritual Support.” Doesn’t that look like a fun way to connect to the Spirit within? Register at www.peacelabyrinth.org.

Hey, what are you doing New Year’s Eve? Want to spend some time with God? We’re offering an evening of chanting the names of God, creating ideal scenes and treasure maps as a way to set our intentions for the new year, singing around the piano, and scrumptious refreshments will be for sale as well. Sunday, December 31, 8 pm.
