Playing to an almost packed house, Spiritual Warriors, written and produced by John-Roger, DSS and Jsu Garcia, directed by David Raynr, made its Midwestern Premiere at Chicago’s Century City Cinema this past Wednesday evening, October 3rd, 2007. With around 200 in attendance, the theater was a buzz with anticipation and excitement as Zoe Golightly introduced the film.
With the exception of some twenty people from the local MSIA community, MSIA traveling staff, and our very own John Morton, all in attendance where new to an MSIA family related event, representing a huge success for the film, and the efforts of John Mikel (MSIA’s new local area rep) and Gary Goldman, among others, who stepped forward to organize the event. Those in attendance heard about the event through the promotional efforts of Transitions Bookstore, where John Morton facilitated the Spiritual Warriors Workshop the evening before, and the many postcards, emails and invites from friends.
After the film, John Morton and Zoe Golightly fielded lively questions from the audience, which included requests for other screenings, offers to help us spread the word with other spiritual communities, and a request from an actor to be part of the sequel! All in all it was a festive evening of community and entertainment.
