Today is March 20th, 2008 and I’m here enjoying a fresh Tuesday morning in the beautiful white house of our beloved friend and MSIA Minister, Eliete Lessa. I am in the living room enjoying a fabulous view, like the name of the city Belo Horizonte which means beautiful horizon. It’s eleven in the morning and our friend Jsu Garcia is still asleep after the wonderful screening of the movie Spiritual Warriors last night. The screening was followed by sharing a dinner with our MSIA family full of laughs, chanting, and a novel Mexican performance by Jsu Garcia and Tosha our yogi friend. It ended at 5am in the morning!
The ‘cost’ for seeing the screening was 2.20 lbs of non-perishable food items donated to “Casa Feliz” orphans home — which resonated with the context of the generosity and unconditional love of the Spiritual Warriors script. The room was full, so that means the orphanage received 264 lbs of food. Thank you God!
The meeting started with a half hour of laughter yoga donated by our friend Tosha from Chile to introduce the joy of the Spiritual Warrior into the room. After that Jsu, translated by Roberta Vasconcellos, spoke a little bit about the movie. Than the lights were turned off and the film started, as J-R tells us the qualities of the Spiritual Warrior and our adventure had begun!
After one and a half hours of “Ohhss, Ahhhhs”, the movie finished and Jsu did a Q&A with us all. The amazing thing was the interest of the kids in the audience. After that Jsu signed books with open love and grace. It was all so great — a great evening where we could share love and the impeccability of the Spiritual Warrior on the screen and in the physical presence of Jsu Garcia.
We Brazilians are very grateful for this opportunity and asked for more.
