Planting Light Columns in Washington D.C.

First of all, I thank all those who participated in this ministry of going to Washington D.C. to plant Light Columns, either by being there physically or in Spirit.

This was my first time to visit Washington D.C. and I felt immersed in the history of this country. The founding fathers’ words are written on the monuments, their spirit walks with those open to see and to hear. The words of Thomas Jefferson talking to John Adams resonated in my head throughout the trip, “The Revolution is only one.” What revolution? The way I understand it now is the Revolution of the hearts waking up, touching, seeing, and listening to each other, realizing we are all One.

Wednesday, May 13th was the day our tour group first visited the Capitol. One special moment was when I arrived at our meeting point at the entrance of the Visitor Center and saw a group of about 10 of us already gathered. The names on the Washington tour list I had been working with all these months of preparation, now had faces. Finally I was able to look in their eyes and hug them. There was rejoicing of the hearts touching each other. When most of our tour group had arrived, we joined one of the lines and went through security.

Once inside the Visitor Center of the Capitol, I went downstairs to one of the clerks, and handed my reservation papers. They gave me the passes for each person participating, which were then distributed to the group. Now it was waiting time. As some of our group continued to arrive, Angel and Cleora waited outside for John who made it just in time.

While we lined up, I counted 36 persons in our tour. During this waiting time, at one moment I closed my eyes and called in the Light of the Most High. I enjoyed the connection and the bliss — we were actually DOING IT, putting Light in the Capitol.

As the time approached for our tour, our guide, Roger in his red jacket stepped forward and smiled. I went up to him, introduced myself and explained we were a group of the church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. He seemed impressed by the name.
Next we were guided to a theater where we watched an outstanding 13 minute documentary about the history of Congress and the Capitol. Then our guide, Roger, took us to the main hall and delivered tons of interesting information. In this room President Obama had dinner the day of the Inauguration. When I first arrived at the Capitol I turned on my I-touch so I could listen to my favorite J-R and John tapes, and at moments I was more inward with Spirit than listening to our tour guide, so now I will have to go back to the Capitol to really listen to Roger.

One hour later we were out in the hall again. It all went so fast! Leigh suggested that we visit the exhibition and after agreeing on a time and meeting place we went through the exhibition about the story of Congress. The exhibition was quite informative and beautiful. I would have stayed much longer, so now I have a second reason to go back.

The next destination was the Lincoln Memorial. Some people decided to take the Metro. John, Leigh and others went walking all the way, about two miles, and some took a taxi. I was in the last group. We all gathered some thirty minutes later in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

The view from this memorial, looking along the pond to the obelisk beyond, is magnificent. I had been there the day before to check what the distances between the monuments we would be. I did not feel anything special. The difference I found on May 13th was the company of the Traveler and so many ministers. That cannot be measured. I chanted and planted a Light column.

Upon leaving John called the group together to give us a blessing, anchoring the blessing that he said “was already there,” through those present. After the blessing we said our goodbyes.

The next day, May 14th, a smaller group of about 20 met in front of the White House at 10AM. Our plan was to go around the perimeter gate and plant Light columns. There were a lot of people outside the White House. Many were groups of students, some of which were getting inside the White House for a tour.

We did not get in the White House this time because our request for a tour was not received on time. Nevertheless there was a sense of fulfillment and ease among the group. I think we were all happy just to be there. John, our Traveler was not with us physically, but I could feel his presence in my heart. I asked the group to circle up and Peter Bort called in the Light for us. We chanted softly and started our walk. Washington D.C. ministers, Sue Dolan and Myrtle Sutphin, who have done this many times, lead the group. At one point we formed a group hug and Sue called in the Light again. After that we continued to the World War II Memorial and finally to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

This trip represented a big completion for me, and at the same time is a new beginning. New doors had been opened in my consciousness and I want to continue to walk hand in hand with the Lord in these new territories. Planting Light Columns continues forever.

God bless us all.
