Walking In the Light — Easter Workshop

On Good Friday morning we arrived at the 2101 Building in Santa Monica (after a brisk walk from our parking space in what seemed like another county). In the upstairs lobby we found all our friends ready to participate in the Walking in the Light workshop, hosted by Peace Theological Seminary. (It may be called a “workshop,” but it felt more like a multi-dimensional initiation!) Many folks were taking it for the first time, some had been using the Walking in the Light exercises for fifteen years or more.

Leigh Taylor-Young was our dear MC, and her loving was so sweet and so present. Various participants came forward to call in the Light, each one invoking the Light in a completely different and completely heart-felt way. John Morton, our intrepid facilitator, was masterful in leading us through each of the exercises; his good natured commentary kept us all focused as well as entertained.

Walking in the Light had not been presented for quite some, but the materials and graphics used had been recently re-designed into a PowerPoint presentation. This weekend’s event was the first presentation of the animated graphics in Los Angeles, and what a difference they made! Clarity, vision, and everything easier to understand — what a treat!

With endless, loving patience, John answered every question, explained things from his perspective, and reminded us that The One Who Knows within each of us will do these exercises perfectly.

Saturday we were going through the exercises, questions were being answered, and then John, delightful Traveler that he is, led us through a meditation that opened our hearts and brought us home. A beautiful day was made even more gorgeous by the Light that shone out of our faces and eyes.
