On the Road with Angel Gibson in Caracas, Venezuela

Article imageMSIA travel staff were in South America recently, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events in various locations. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update:

Day 6
Today the girls go to Caracas, Venezuela — Celia, Lesley, Ani and mi mismo (myself). Caracas is fun to me; I have the feeling I’m in a frontier town. Everything seems to go faster here, especially speaking Spanish (think of a machine gun rapidly firing and you have the staccato sound of Caracas Spanish to my ears). Santos Gomez is on hand to meet us and squire us right into our car and up the hill over the mountain into the valley of Caracas. The climate is warm and humid, tropical. We just get settled in and it’s time to do initiations. No matter what city we are in, the blessing of doing and receiving initiations is constant. Marianna Machado stays by my side to lovingly translate. It’s late by the time initiations are done so we decide to do dinner in the hotel and make it a quiet night for tomorrow the “men” join us.

Day 7

Celia and I do MSIA Services today. Cesar Mendoza and Virginia are on hand to greet and direct the Services process. Lesley and Ani are by our sides sitting in on Services. Maria Cleopatra and Marie Winfield make themselves available to translate — we are grateful for this service. Excitement builds throughout the day as we await the arrival of the Traveler, John Morton, and the dudes — Vincent Dupont and Paul Kaye. They are not due to arrive until late this evening so we girls take full advantage of a little spa time after Services to get our nails done and some massages. Finally we hear from the guys that they’ve arrived at the airport, but it’s not until a little before midnight when they actually get to the hotel. Hugs all around and we do a quick logistics meeting about the next day, then it’s Buenos Noches for each of us.

Day 8

We start this day at 7:20am driving to a radio station with John who is going to be interviewed by Elba Escobar on her Elba en Onde show. Celia, Santos, John, and Alicia (our driver and translator) head to the radio station. This is a big radio station and Elba’s show, we discover, is being broadcast all over Venezuela for the first hour and then mainly in Caracas for the second hour. The theme of her time with John is “How can Spirituality be fun?” We laugh a lot and are touched by John’s responses to each caller that go very deep. The energy in the radio interview room gets warmer and sweeter as the time progresses. People who are calling-in seem hungry to touch in with the Traveler energy. Of course the Open Seminar being held that evening is promoted a number of times throughout the show.

As soon as the interview ends we head for some coffee/snacks and then to MSIA Services. There are a lot of new people this time which is wonderful for Lesley and Ani who are now getting lots of practice in doing Aura Balance 1’s and Polarity Balances. Then it’s time for the open seminar. Mariana machado is on hand to translate for John. Kenny Aliaga is a beautiful Mistress of Ceremonies as she introduces Elba to sing a song. Elba invites the group to join her and based on the audience’s participation we guess this is a song well-liked and known to our audience.

John now comes up and finds a way to speak to the essence of Soul Transcendence and the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness in yet another way tailored for the consciousness of this group. He posed some interesting questions to the group, such as: “How are you dealing with the life God gave you?”, “If there’s someone in your life that bothers you, would you be willing to forgive them?”, “To withdraw any judgment of them?”, and more. We end the evening dining al fresco until midnight, fellowshipping with some of our Caracas MSIA family. Then it’s time for a few emails and bed.

Day 9

Today we have more MSIA Services to do. Time seems to whip by and soon we are going downstairs for some ordinations before the closed seminar. Santos is the MC for this evening and does a graceful job of welcoming the group and introducing Beatriz Valdez who shares a heartfelt poem. Then John wastes no time in delving into the heart of the matter or the “Soul” of the matter. He spoke to “completing in this world,” the value of reading discourses, and taking responsibility for staying current on discourses. During Q&A, John answered questions such as: “How do I get rid of stuckness?” and “How do I find balance with Spirit and family?” John talked on forgiveness, how the Traveler works with the level of consciousness that is present, and much more. After the seminar was done it was time to pack up the equipment and pack up ourselves as tomorrow we head to Bogota.

Day 10

We have a little extra time this morning to sleep in before checking out of our hotel and traveling down the hill to the airport. Santos and Chuyo are our chauffeurs. Once at the airport we do our goodbye’s and hugs and have just enough time to do a little downloading before heading to our gate and boarding the plane. Seems like a short hop to Bogota — only 1 hour and 15 minutes. Most of us do some catching up on spiritual exercises, and then we’re back in Bogota. We’re waiting in a special lounge while customs checks our sound equipment, and fairly soon we’re on our way out the doors and being greeted by Yolanda Martinez, the MSIA Rep for Colombia, Leopoldo – our man with the van for the equipment — and Alberto Arango – the “Don” as we affectionately call him — who loads us into his car. We’re happy to get to our hotel and then onto an Italian corner right around the block. Perfect for us tonight because we’re all hungry and in need of a little sleep. Tomorrow is a full on day and we want to be rested and all open to being with our Columbian family.
