Gala Celebration at the Conference of the Mystical Traveler

Is this the best Conference ever? That question may be open to debate but the Gala on Saturday night celebrating J-R’s 50 years & John Morton’s 25 years as the Mystical Traveler was the best night of Conference entertainment ever. How could it not be? The focus of love for our travelers lasted long after they left the room and continued until 11:30. It was the first time that I ever stayed until the end. How could I leave? There was too much love in the room.

The tone was set by MCs Joey Hubbard and Wayne Pepper who got us in the mood for celebration with their practiced poise and obvious love for J-R and John. It was infectious and the dinner entertainment was practiced and professional. A Latin tribute, singing nuns, a surprise flash mob song, MSIA favorites Nat Sharratt & Erik Raleigh, and Eric Lumiere, and Jsu. Before I forget let me tell Deborah Martinez now please accept my pre-order now for the CD that she must create. Thanks also to a young Claire Morton whose ’16 tons’ is destined to be a movement classic.

Then came the dancing with an all too rare performance of Brad Pie and the Black Eyed Peas (and who was that white dancer with them?), lets just say that the Traveler moves in mysterious ways. And those singing, dancing, rocking nuns! I hope that if you are reading this you were here or watching online because we are going to be talking about this one for years.
