A quiet couple of days at idyllic Bovey Castle, as latecomers arrive and everyone rests prior to the marathon 3-day sharing. Falconry demos (including a bald eagle, owls, and hawks) by our witty friend Martin Whitley, walks into the nearby town of Moretonhampstead, croquet on the lawn, and general hanging-out. As usual, the outer activities are deceptively ordinary, the outer setting sweet and nurturing, and the inner setting extraordinary and powerful, with the Traveler working its transformation on our insides as the group energy blends and prepares us for the sharing that starts tomorrow. We walk through the English countryside, eat and talk, carrying galaxies of unexpressed spiritual wonder in our heads, a shared secret that’s so well-hidden and so obvious that it’s rarely discussed, but glimpsed in frequent laughter and a kind of carefree spaciness.
