A couple of free days, unwinding after the 3-day sharing. Hanging out at the castle with a birthday cake for J-R, more bird shows (this time with a golden eagle), a walk into the village of North Bovey and a visit to an old pub, and shots of the little owl named Archimedes perched at the reception desk of the castle. I hike up through the moors to see the wild ponies of Dartmoor, on a day both rainy and sunny that produces a rainbow over the castle to greet my return. On the evening of the last night there is skeet shooting on the balcony. Then it’s off to bed to get ready for the return to London the next day.
