This is a seminar that will show you the way toward freedom, if you let it. John-Roger begins this way. “When we are very little, we actually have a utopia. Everything is provided for us. We have water and food and clothing and shelter and protection and love. That’s utopia. Except, we’re not allowed to cross the street. So, all of a sudden personal freedom disappears. Now, here’s the rub on utopia. Utopia means, ‘I have no responsibility. I get to blame you for everything wrong that you do, and I get to take credit for everything that’s right for me.’ That sounds familiar doesn’t it? When things go wrong, I become a victim.”

In this seminar, J-R tells stories of his cats, people he has met and the ways he himself is an imperfect human being. His stories illustrate the ways we deny ourselves the ease that comes with acceptance of what is. And of course, throughout his talk he opens the door to reveal the threshold of freedom. “If you want freedom,” he says, “you have to realize that everything that happens to you is part of your doing. You can have freedom if you take personal responsibility for your actions. What then, is the end result?

Well, it’s called paradise. What’s the difference between paradise and utopia? Utopia, I’ve already defined. It’s a prison of make believe. Paradise is a spiritual place.” Let J-R set you free.
