What Would Loving Do?

What would the loving do?  If you are ever lost, ask, “What would the loving do?” – John Morton

The article below is taken from John’s sharing at a Q & A seminar in April 2024.

You are not bound to stay in this world.  None of us are.  We are going to leave this world and what is in the world.  We have the opportunity to do it in this lifetime.

There is a choosing back part.  You are a creator.  You could say, “Not now, Lord,” or however you respond to what that is spiritually.  You might say, “I’m willing, Lord.”  Then, it will come in what is correct according to spiritual law.  We are not exempt.  It would come in however you have a desire or an attachment to something.

There is a patience part of this world called, “Let go to let God.”  John-Roger gave it meaning when he said, “Let go, relax, and let God.” Relax and be patient.  That’s the “let God” part.

When I heard that, I thought, “Really?  Patience?  That’s God?”  What do you need patience for?  I relate to patience as waiting in line.  Instead of “Can I have it now?”, it’s time to wait in line, to wait your turn.  It still happens for me.  I am still being tested in my patience.

You can call out, “I’m going home to God and choosing back!  I am doing everything in my power to do it now.”  And then you might ask, “What am I doing here?  I’m ready to go, Lord.  Take me.  I am ready.”

That is the patience.  As long as you are here, maybe you could just make it a little better than you found it.  Today, coming into now, what would you do to make it better?  What would the love of God do as you?

That can be a tall order.  It could be an order like, “Be yourself.”  Is that it?  You might say, “I am already myself, Lord.  Give me an assignment or some mission.  I want to be great in my love of You.”  That’s starting to sound like an ego talking instead of asking if you are willing to serve.  “Of course, I’m willing to serve.”  Then just stand there and don’t get in the way.

I remember hearing that from John-Roger and thinking I was ready.  Like, “Put me in the game, Coach.”  But I heard, “Don’t get in the way.”

“What do you mean?  I’m not going to get in the way.”  It is like the stupid one is starting to talk. You can hear it.  You are starting to interfere, starting to rebut.  You are starting to want to have your way and starting to get in the way.  Something is going to happen, and you are not going to like it because you are resisting.

Patience can be about looking at what to do while waiting until you are called.  You can just do something good, something to help.  That is a consciousness of service.  That would be what serves in the highest way in this world.  Spirit is already doing that, and it does that most powerfully at the lowest position.

Where is the most powerful place for God to do the greatest good? I’d say the negative power because the most powerful test is right there.  The negative power does not have the power to defeat you.  You are not given what you can’t handle.  You can handle, spiritually, whatever test the negative power sends you.  Why would you want to take it to the extreme?  You don’t have to.

You might think, “I want to prove how great I am – the greatest servant ever.  I have the most love for God.”  That might be your goal so you could do the most God would have you do.  But right now, it’s a clearing because the negative power is working.  That is one of the things that happens when we get close.  It’s the greatest test because what the negative power has left is to block.

Some of this stuff is pretty subtle.  That is one of the ways it comes on.  You may think, “I can handle this.  I can do that.  I’ll show you.  I’m so loving.”  That sounds pretty good but check it out.  Maybe that is not the negative power.  Maybe that’s just, “I’m going to give it all in a way that is in celebration!”

There was something that Jesus pointed out with the woman who they said gave the most.  She gave all she had, but it was the least amount of anybody.  If you measured by the amount, it looks like the least amount.  She gave all she had.  It was seen as a pittance, but she gave it all.

If you do something at that level, you are allowing your life to be of service.  In a moment, it could be like, “Did you give the shirt off your back?  You said you would give the shirt off your back.”  You might say, “I said that when I could go home and have a nice clean shirt to put on.  I don’t have that now.  I don’t want to give up my last shirt.”

Now you are making an exception.  You are starting to do something there and it’s subtle.  Check it out.  Which voice are you following?  If someone says, “Give it all that’s coming from the Lord God.”  Then you are on.  Give it all.  Give all you’ve got.

What does that mean?  It’s the loving.  What would the loving do?  If you are ever lost, ask, “What would the loving do?”

The loving can just be loving.  It doesn’t need an explanation.  It demonstrates itself and others know it.  That can be your life and can include anyone.  Just do what the loving would do.

God bless you.

Blessing of Perfect Ways

Dear God, we give thanks

that You have brought us to our blessings

and allowed us to see what we do not know how to see

and understand what we do not know how to understand.

We present all this to You,

so You can freely take it all from us.

Whatever remains that we know is ours,

we take our responsibility.

What remains to be done in this world,

and any level of our consciousness to come into alignment with You,

is done in perfect ways and perfect cooperation.

We give thanks for Your grace

that is bestowed through our loving thy Lord and thy will.

It is all done.

Hallelujah.

Amen.
