From my first time traveling to MSIA’s annual Conference in 2001 to tuning in online for my 25th Conference this year, I am filled every time with loving, learning, and sweet joy. This year, each event brought forward beautiful expansion of knowing and experiencing the divine Inner Master, who we also know as the Mystical Traveler Consciousness within us all. What an abundance of goodness and blessings we shared!
DAY 1
PTS Graduation – Completion and Commencement
Our events started off with honoring new Master and Doctor of Spiritual Science graduates. Melissa Ward, DSS, welcomed MSS in Soul Transcendence graduates, and Joanie Clingan, Ph.D., DSS, welcomed MSS in Transcendent Leadership graduates. Deborah Martinez, DSS, honored new DSS graduates who were then blessed through the sacred hooding ceremony with our Traveler John Morton, DSS. My heart resonated as each graduate accepted their hard-earned, much-loved degrees and began their next steps in their souls’ journeys ever higher. For me, my MSS and DSS experiences are treasured adventures in knowing my Inner Master in deeply healing and empowering ways.
I found John Morton’s sharing to be especially reassuring and encouraging about meeting our challenges with enthusiasm and openness from a place of knowing our oneness as Initiates of the Traveler. I heard John share how acceptance and cooperation with our learning process are keys to knowing the Inner Master within. Regardless of what we face in this world, our Inner Master walks with us always, reminding us we are always adored as God’s precious beloveds.
I heard John remind us how PTS Graduation is a time of completion and letting go of what is no longer serving us. Commencement means to begin and to open ourselves for what is next in our learning, upliftment, and growth as we choose to become more and more one with our Inner Master.
Peace is Present with the Inner Master
Leigh Taylor-Young Morton, MSIA’s Ambassador, and David Whitaker, Windermere caretaker, welcomed us to shine our lights into the world in greater ways. We learned how the Inner Master is a precious place of eternal loving, light, and peace within, direct from the heart of God. By practicing John-Roger’s Four Principles of Peace, we can experience the peace that is already present by moving our awareness to that sacred place within. Sometimes it is by simply taking a moment to focus on our breathing, that gift from God that reminds us we are never alone.
I enjoyed Leigh’s and David’s guided meditations taking us into that quiet, gentle, solid place within where we know the Inner Master in our heart of hearts. Along with participants who shared, I experienced in a deeper way how the Inner Master and I are one. Our Inner Master is an eternal source of peace and inspiration, providing guidance always for our highest good and blessing us all along the way.
As we chose our Adopt-a-Qualities for serving peace in greater ways, I appreciated hearing Leigh’s own process of adopting a few qualities and the reminder that whatever qualities we choose are perfect for us as we listen to our Inner Master. I have been adopting qualities of peace for years. Each time, I am awed and grateful as those qualities become more present in my life through my choosing into them over and over.
Beautiful videos of Windermere showed us this gorgeous land’s enduring natural gifts enhanced with newly renovated buildings and luscious gardens. From Leigh’s Birthday Event at Windermere this past January, much enthusiasm and loving service has come forward to help clean up and further develop the ranch into the place of peace John-Roger envisioned years ago. Our beloved caretakers of Windermere, David and Ashley Whitaker, Ted Drake, and many more volunteers are nurturing the land with joyful devotion and impeccable honoring of the rich foundation of blessings already present.
I appreciated hearing John Morton share his process for Adopt-a-Quality and how he added a new quality that came forward within for him, “Highest Service.” From wonderful excerpts, I heard John-Roger remind us that as we move into the Golden Age, we are learning to serve through better cooperation with the Lord and one another and by choosing a positive attitude. In so doing, we bring forward greater peace and loving for all.
John-Roger has said, “Service is the highest form of consciousness on the planet.” At Windermere, generous service in cooperation with the loving guidance of the Inner Master is bringing forward greater peace and expansion of the beauty and grace this precious land and its loving caretakers offer.

DAY 2
Heartfelt Loving & Caring for All
Lori Matson, DSS, and Joanie Clingan, Ph.D., DSS, invited us to explore how we acknowledge and celebrate our service to one and all. Through Heartfelt and Heartreach, we are the Lord’s instruments, tuning into the Inner Master and bringing forward greater good through kindness and loving service.
In processes with one another and inwardly, we looked at how to honor the ways we choose to serve. We explored how we serve in our communities, which can be through Heartfelt, Heartreach, or wherever “Two or more are gathered.” What matters most is serving from our hearts with the intention of cooperating with what is for the highest good.
I heard John-Roger remind us to look at what works for us individually while being of service to others. Both are important to consider in each moment because we help ourselves as we help others. I heard John Morton remind us that even if we forget God loves us as we serve, God still does. It is up to each one of us to choose into God’s love, our Inner Master, as our guide and inspiration.
I appreciated the heartfelt reminders to take care of ourselves first so that we can help take care of others. The processes for exploring how we make those important choices helped me remember to put my self-care and spiritual journey first as I then look at how to serve others. I loved hearing everyone’s celebrations of the ways they serve themselves and one another. What great reminders how serving ourselves and one another is serving the beloveds of God – who we truly are!
A Masterful Sanctuary of Insight
Under the loving guidance of Insight Facilitators, Rachael Jayne, DSS, and John Marin, we had the blessing of experiencing our inner Sacred Sanctuary. The Sanctuary meditation is a precious and powerful inner process during Insight I. My first Sanctuary experience occurred over 20 years ago. The sweet awakenings I received during that time inspired me to continue to use my Sanctuary to bring challenges and difficulties into a sacred, safe space within that I can then view through the eyes of loving. From John Marin’s gentle, steady guidance, this Insight Sanctuary meditation became even more powerful as we welcomed more fully the presence of our Inner Master.
Hearing participants share all the wonderful ways they connected to their Inner Masters was especially touching. While we all heard the same meditation words, we experienced our Inner Master guiding and comforting us uniquely in ways that worked for each of us perfectly. At the same time, as participants shared, I had a beautiful experience of our oneness. Our Sanctuaries are unique and yet the truest Sanctuary is that divine, safe place within where we are all one with the Inner Master.
Mastership & Loving with USM
To a room filled with loving, grateful University of Santa Monica students, graduates, and interested newcomers, Mary Hulnick, Ph.D., welcomed us all for a greater experience of love and mastership. Mary, co-founder of USM with Ron Hulnick, Ph.D, and John-Roger, DSS, shared how the first USM classes, held over 40 years ago, began in the same room at Prana from where our event was held. Called Koh-i-Noor back then, USM began with the intention to share the teachings of the Traveler through programs in Spiritual Psychology. Today, USM provides classes and workshops online to students all over the world, many of whom also study with MSIA and PTS, where we know the Inner Master who is that same source of supreme loving, wisdom, and joy.
In sacred writing processes, we wrote letters to our Inner Master, first with questions or requests and then from listening to the blessings the Inner Master shared with us within. I appreciated Mary’s reminder that when we petition our Inner Master, we are doing so for the highest good as the Inner Master is that source of pure, highest light, love, and peace. My heart resonated as Mary reminded us all how we are already masters and are being called more than ever to go out into the world as masters of God’s love, light, and sound.
From participants’ sharings, I learned how some graduates helped establish USM years ago, serving as faculty and staff to help USM programs develop and prosper. I heard how USM is now expanding its courses, including an upcoming weekend workshop with Mary Hulnick. New classes and opportunities are being offered by USM, so we all can bring forward our loving mastership into the world in greater ways.

DAYS 3 & 4
The Inner Master Calls Workshop
For two precious days of loving, learning, and sharing, we gathered to explore how the Inner Master calls each one of us individually and altogether. Under the steady, loving guidance of Jeffrey Morgan and Sherie Wylie Markova, DSS, we looked within, shared with one another, listened to powerful inspiration from John-Roger, and had blessed opportunities to share with our Traveler John Morton. We wrote letters to our Inner Master, received blessings from our Inner Master, and sang and danced together. We shared in the joy and laughter brought forward as we let go of what we realized no longer worked for us and embraced the blessings of the Inner Master already present and coming forward.
I heard reminders of how when we choose into our Inner Master, we have endless opportunities to see the beauty and goodness in each moment regardless of outer circumstances. Choosing our Inner Master is truly about Soul Transcendence, to know ourselves as one with God.

I appreciated John Morton’s stories of ordinariness and finding the sweetness and goodness in each experience, regardless of challenges. While 90% of our existence is going on spiritually, our 10% is what we are handling here and now, which calls for us to choose to love it all as God loves it all. I am grateful to know that by listening to the loving guidance of the Inner Master, I can see from a higher view and choose to enjoy whatever is placed before me as the next opportunity for my soul’s learning and growth.
John-Roger taught us that to know the secret of Soul Transcendence is to “Look for the good and divine in all people and things and leave the rest to God.” For me, our Conference workshop was a powerful, joyful time of not only looking for the good but experiencing the eternal goodness of the Inner Master always present, here and now, loving and adoring us one and all.
After a scrumptious dinner created by Daneen Green and her team, we were treated to contributions from our MSIA family members, each unique in their own way, reminding us all of contributions from earlier times in MSIA when everyone is appreciated for their creative sharing. It was great fun!

DAY 5
Ministering in Loving Mastership
Our Conference Ministers’ Meeting was filled with honoring the Inner Master who guides our ministries in the line of the Travelers. We cheered with gratitude our L.A. Global Ministerial Board, which includes dedicated members fulfilling their terms of volunteer service, new members stepping in to serve, and ministers who choose to continue their service as advisory board members.
We applauded our wonderful Ministers of the Year – Sherie Wylie Markova, DSS, Dean of PTS, and Debbie Roth, DSS, Chairperson of the L.A. Global Ministerial Board. These two precious ministers love and serve all with tremendous kindness and impeccable devotion to the teachings and ministry of the Traveler.
Our MSIA Presidency honored ministers who served as generous volunteers to bring the teachings forward and support communities and MSIA Staff and Traveler visits around the world. Most deserved awards were bestowed upon beloved, inspiring ministers Cheryl Matthieu, Pedro Domaniche, and Vitale Fohman.
Through the gentle guidance and encouragement of Paul Kaye, DSS, MSIA President, we looked at how our tithing and seeding in cooperation with the Inner Master can work for us in ever-greater ways. Leigh Taylor-Young Morton led us in a sacred blessing for our precious planet, a process we are invited to do anytime anywhere.
I was especially moved when ministers from around the world shared a few lines from their Ordination Blessings. As each minister recited sacred words from Spirit, I took in the blessings in support of my ministry. I treasure knowing Spirit’s blessings are placed for all ministers of God to enjoy and help manifest for the greater good.
John Morton encouraged us to remember our ministry can be reaching out to fellow ministers in ordinary ways. We can minister to ourselves by asking for support, and we can minister to others by offering our loving support to them. From a newly-released John-Roger Ministers’ Seminar, I heard how our ministry may be about listening and then serving our fellow ministers. Serving fellow ministers is a joyful service that warms my heart and inspires my ministry in tender, meaningful ways. It is my honor to serve my fellow ministers as it is a sweet way to know the Inner Master working with us all.
As John shared about upcoming Traveler Tours, Italy in 2025 and Turkey in 2026, I was reminded how our ministries are about “going forward into the world.” I am grateful and reassured how the Inner Master, the Traveler within, guides all of our ministries so we can bring God’s love, light, and sound more fully into the world, serving all regardless.
Joyful Initiates of the Inner Master
As initiates of the Traveler, our loving Inner Master, we gathered together in oneness, honoring our choosing back into the loving heart of God. John-Roger’s newly-released Initiate’s Seminar was most comforting as he reminded us how our journeys as initiates happen in small sometimes baby steps as well as giant leaps.
John Morton’s blessing of our initiation of the Inner Master was especially beautiful, taking us deeper and higher into knowing ourselves as the beloved of God. As John took questions from Initiates around the world, I appreciated his welcoming us to share what we heard and learned from our Inner Master as well as what we may be asking of our Inner Master. We are all learning and sharing together in the oneness of the Inner Master who provides us with infinite blessings of eternal love and divine protection.
As our glorious days of Inner Master togetherness came to a close, my heart was full as we embraced our oneness, knowing we are always loved and adored as the Beloveds of God.

Thank you for this inspired and inspiring overview of the Conference of the Inner Master which I was not able to attend apart from the Ministers’ and Initiates’ Meetings online from Australia. I’ve had my own “conference” checking in with my Inner Master as I was reading this beautiful description of the events and with David Sand’s wonderful photography.
Blessings and love.
