Love Is In The Air — A Webcast with John Morton

Love was most certainly in the air, which was the theme for the Webcast with John Morton, Saturday afternoon February 25th.

Prior to the event, the quiet of the Brentwood Ballroom was stillness itself, compared to the fabulous energy brought in by the opening band, dubbed by John Morton as The Traveler’s Band (Eric Lumiere, Denise Lumiere, James Hassett, Karen Hassett, John Morgan, Gabe Morgan, and Mark Samuel). Their rendition of “Love Is In the Air” was nothing short of splendid, and had the participants up on their feet and clapping.

Leigh Taylor-Young made a brief introduction and gave an invocation calling us forward into the Light. There were two Moment of Peace videos, both featuring John-Roger, founder of MSIA and Peace Theological Seminary. John Morton was (lovingly, sweetly) introduced, and he began to talk about Love.

Watch the archive of the webcast:

He explained that Loving comes from a deep source of who we are, and we are in the process of discovering that we ARE love. He described it as “above personality, history, blood type, genotype” – and its about choices and choosing Love. He went on to say that Love exceeds time, because the speed of Loving is the speed of God’s Love. Through loving we have the opportunity to resurrect life, and overcome our limitations.

In his talk, John made reference to the Christian Bible, focusing on the Book of Job; his take was that if we love God, we forgive, and then we forget. He made a point of cautioning us not to worship the pages of the book, but rather to look to the Spirit of it.

John is famous for his Blessings, and this afternoon was no exception – he blessed all with words of loving and peace.

John announced the upcoming Easter weekend workshop, Walking in the Light, on April 6th and 7th, followed by an Easter Webcast, on the evening of April 7th. On Easter morning, MSIA presents “Easter on the Beach,” (a personal favorite event of mine), which is held on Santa Monica Beach (see MSIA’s website for details at www.msia.org).

Leigh Taylor-Young made a few announcements, and The Traveler’s Band closed the webcast with a reprise of “Love Is In the Air.” Refreshments were served afterward in the lobby area downstairs, and John made himself available for a meet and greet. A fine time was had by all.
