Serving our Souls on Easter Eve

John Morton at MSIA's Easter Eve Webcast, 2010
John Morton at MSIA's Easter Eve Webcast, 2010

Our Easter Eve Webcast with John Morton began with the lovely Leigh Taylor-Young welcoming all the loving Souls in the Brentwood Room in Santa Monica, California as well as around the world. In her gentle and inspiring way, Leigh invited us all to Call in the Light which she referred to as a pure radiation of God or Spirit. We all then chanted together ā€œAni Hu,ā€ an ancient term for God that brings forth empathy and compassion. After a few moments of peaceful silence in the Oneness, Leigh introduced two divine Souls who serenaded our Souls with their original music.

Taras Lumiere, accompanied by Eric Lumiere and Alethea Lamb, sang a beautiful song honoring Godā€™s eternal patience with us. I loved how Taras reminded us all that the Christ is before us, behind us, beside us and always within us. Following Taras, Jimmy Ness sang a lovely tune of light and sound which he called ā€œIn Our Hearts.ā€

Leigh then introduced John Morton, the Spiritual Director of MSIA, who has shown up at these webcasts continuously since 2001. Leigh acknowledged and thanked John for his devotion and dedication to all of us and the journey of our Souls through his many years of steady guidance and loving support. John has been presenting seminars on practical spirituality, facilitating workings, answering questions, and serving us all around the world for over 30 years.

John mentioned the Walking in the Light workshop, sponsored by Peace Theological Seminary and College of Philosophy (PTS), that he had facilitated earlier that day in Santa Monica. John noted that participants were choosing to claim the Light for themselves as they moved inward and upward towards the Spirit. I enjoyed the reminder that weā€™re never given anything we canā€™t handle, and that as students in MSIA and PTS, weā€™re choosing to handle things better. I heard John add that we can handle whatā€™s here for the better, and as we look to Jesus for help, we can then handle things in the greatest way possible. Itā€™s such a comfort to remember that Jesus the Christ was sent in Godā€™s name and through Godā€™s love to help us all.

In his divine way, John made an inspiring blessing request for each one of us as we learn and grow as Souls in this world. His sweet yet powerful words reflected the knowing that we are loved exactly as we are and we are to celebrate that God has called us forth in the ways that are perfect for us. John encouraged us to love one another, extend a hand, and make a stranger a friend. I was especially moved when John asked everyone to look at each other through loving eyes right then during the webcast. As participants in the Brentwood Room turned towards one another, John looked into the camera and encouraged us to look back. I felt such a tender divine oneness with everyone and all the loving Souls who gathered around the world to share in that precious moment. We can know that loving connection and how we are all one with God, regardless of who is around us.

John then took questions from participants in the Brentwood Room as well as people who wrote in from Spain, Venezuela and around the United States. John addressed questions about the difference between karma and sin, how to overcome fears about a loved one dying, and how to find fulfillment and completion in all we do. John reminded us to choose peace, compassion and understanding as keys to our success. He also reminded us to bless our fears as a way of finding a new level of peace within. John then suggested we practice saying nine words John-Roger, the founder of MSIA, often reminds us to use: I love you. God bless you. Peace be still.

We watched two inspiring Moments of Peace with John-Roger, which I found powerful reminders of the divine Wayshower for our Souls that he is. John reminded us that John-Roger has shown us time and again that, in our studies with MSIA and PTS, we are doing something that transcends this world. We are choosing to know ourselves as the Souls that we are, the pure loving of God, as we make our ways in the world today and love one another.

John then shared with us about the Circle of Light process that Heartfelt volunteers have been providing to those who are nearing their passing from this world. John noted how Circle of Light volunteers have experienced great joy and beauty as they have served in this way. As we realize and trust the power of God within us, we can overcome all the conditions in this world. It was a great comfort to hear John reassure us that when we go inside, we find the inner strength that brings joy, healing and peace. We serve our Souls by choosing and claiming that inner strength, that divine and eternal power of God, regardless of what goes on in the world.

John closed the Easter Eve seminar with a profoundly comforting blessing, reminding us that our lives are always serving a good purpose regardless of what happens. I heard John encourage us to overcome our challenges by choosing to bless our challenges and any negativity that comes our way. By looking to God, we can embrace, love and celebrate all, especially our Souls as the divine beings we are.

Our evening concluded as Eric Lumiere shared a beautiful song he had written just hours before and dedicated to God entitled, ā€œYouā€™re Always Here.ā€ Leigh then thanked us all for sharing on Easter Eve and let us know that our next webcast will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00PM pacific daylight time at www.msia.org/live. That webcast with John Morton will address the ā€œSpiritual Principles of Health & Well Being,ā€ which is part of the larger theme of Health, Wealth & Happiness at this summerā€™s MSIA Conference 2010. What a perfect way to serve our Souls!
