I still remember the afternoon showers outside as the sun sets on my face. Blue Jay birds fly around me to sing their songs. The tents are scattered around the grounds. Great food three times a day. High in the mountains breathing fresh air. No phones, no TV, no city slickers knocking on my tent. Falling in love with myself and others. Welcome to PAT Boot Camp. Welcome to Arrowhead!

John-Roger created these Peace Awareness Trainings, and in my opinion they are best ever! I have done the PATs back at Windermere and some at Arrowhead at least 8 years ago. It’s been awhile but “wow.” I found friends and love again. I looked at so many eyes and I found my Self and I said to myself, “Hey, wanna dance!” When I was in a process I heard a song that in my opinion sums up my experience at the PAT Boot Camp. Elton John sang this song. Here goes:

The words I have to say
May well be simple but they’re true
Until you give your love
There’s nothing more that we can do

Love is the opening door
Love is what we came here for
No one could offer you more
Do you know what I mean?
Have your eyes really seen?

You say it’s very hard
To leave behind the life we knew
But there’s no other way
And now its really up to you

Love is the key we must turn
Truth is the flame we must burn
Freedom the lesson we must learn
Do you know what I mean?
Have your eyes really seen?

Music and lyrics by Leslie Duncan
