MSIA Webcasts: Tuning in with True Friends

Article image“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”

– Kahlil Gibran

As I began to write this article about the joy of Webcasts offered by the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA), two dear friends of mine joined me which is exactly what they do whenever I tune into a Webcast from home. If I’m watching from my desk, Parker and Lucky are curled up at my feet. If I’m snuggled under the covers all tucked in for the late show, my furry friends are cuddled up right next to me. When I tune in to a Webcast along with my friends, furry or far away, it’s a wonderful reminder that I am never alone and we are here to love and enjoy one another.

I love connecting to a Live Webcast at the exact moment when everyone else is connecting around the world. To me, we’re all together virtually hand in hand hugging the planet with our love and Light. When I tune in Live, I can participate just like the folks in the ballroom in Santa Monica. I can e-mail a question, see it projected onto my computer screen, and then hear John Morton, our facilitator, share the learning and blessings with all of us everywhere.

I especially love it when John looks right into the camera and talks to me — well, actually to all of us watching and listening on our computers. I feel so welcomed and a truly valued part of the Webcast. Of course, Parker and Lucky are sure that John is talking to them. That’s fine with me because, the truth is, we are all sharing in this together.

When I’m not able to show up for a Live Webcast, I replay the Webcast at the perfect time and in the perfect way for me through the online Archives at msia.org. I then have the added blessing of being able to click Rewind and review parts that are especially meaningful to me. I can also click Pause and take a few moments to close my eyes, tune in more deeply, and know that I am not missing a thing. Rarely do I click Fast Forward. As Parker and Lucky often remind me, there is no rush in Spirit unless, of course, there is a squirrel in the backyard.

If it’s been an especially challenging day for me, I’ll tune into the Finding Peace in Today’s World webclass or Forgiveness webclass. The guided meditations with John, excerpts from John-Roger, and the processes help me let go of whatever is troubling me. The Spiritual Exercises webclass and Inner Worlds of Meditation webclass Part I and Part II are perfect for helping me relax and tune in more deeply. They work well for my furry friends too.

If I’m having difficulty seeing the good in all things, that’s the time I click on The Blessings Already Are webclass. And for those times when I need an extra-strength dose of love and light, I click on a Christmas Eve broadcast. Being reminded of the angels touching the earth works wonders, even if it’s in July. Whatever Webcast I choose turns out to be perfect for me and exactly what I need to hear at that time (there are currently 62 archived webcasts from which to choose). Of course, Parker and Lucky always think the Webcast was meant for them.

I am really grateful that the Webcasts are free and easily accessible. I can tune in anywhere, anytime, in any way. I can tune in at home, at my office, in a bookstore, library or coffee shop, even at the airport. I can listen with headphones if I want privacy, or I can turn the sound up to share the goodness with whoever is nearby. Once while watching an Easter Eve Webcast, I baked cookies for a Heartfelt Easter Project. My buddies especially enjoyed that Webcast as they got to partake in the overflow of the blessings crumb by delicious crumb.

I am also grateful for the way the Webcasts allow me the freedom to show up just as I am. I don’t even think about what to wear, how my hair looks, or if my breath or the rest of me for that matter smells fresh and clean. I can relax in an old t-shirt and jeans, slip into my jammies, or show up in my birthday suit, which is Parker and Lucky’s favorite outfit, of course. I know that God loves me just the way I am, and the very best part of an MSIA Webcast is being reminded of that truth.

During the Webcast of September 7, 2002, while answering a question about relationships, John Morton reminded us:

“You may find the perfect angel who will just have so much mercy and grace and forgiveness and be able to handle you at your worst and still hang in there and love you and care for you. If you run into one of those, I’d honor them as best you can. At least acknowledge them and participate, because my independent survey says they’re rare — the ones that will love you no matter what, that forgive you no matter what and celebrate you at your worst.”

“In other words,” John said,
