A Day of Blessings and Outreach at a John Morton Book Event in Sydney Australia

Article imageOn a rainy late afternoon on the famous Pitt St Mall, in downtown Sydney Australia, on March 11th 2003, a bright golden light came from the beautiful new Borders bookstore. If one peeked their head inside the doors they could hear author and traveler John Morton sharing about his book “The Blessings Already Are” and about John-Roger’s and Paul Kaye’s new book “Momentum- Letting Love Lead”. John was answering questions with humor and practical insight and filling the bookstore with peace and Spirit.

Several rows of people sat happily smiling in this wonderful blessing energy. Many people wandered in from the street, some stopping to listen, or to take a free cup of tea, some even stayed around and bought a book or two.

For me, a highlight of the evening was the store manager, a bright funny young guy who was so welcoming and open to us all and really positive about the books. He and John shared about their mutual love of books and the education and joy they bring. The store stayed open past its usual closing time to accommodate us. Special offers were taken advantage of, many books were sold and John took time to sign books for all. It was a day of blessings and wonderful outreach.

Special thanks goes to Bookreach volunteer extraordinaire Fay Martin who organized and managed this event. Thanks to John Morton and the MSIA staff who shone and smiled even though tired, just off the long flight from the U.S. to our land Down Under.
