A Spiritual Vacation with the Traveler

Article imageThis fall, Peace Theological Seminary is offering what could be your trip of a lifetime…a Spiritual Retreat with a focus of living in the now while appreciating the hot spring baths, gourmet meals, country strolls, rural train rides, art and crafts of the ancient land and, perhaps most importantly, a visit to a place of peace with the Traveler.

Join us for the Zen of Spirit, a PTS Retreat where you will experience the power of living your life from the present moment, as the outer journey takes you into the staggering beauty of Southern Japan. The retreat begins October 19, 2002 and runs through October 31, 2002.

Travel along spectacular train routes, whisked through the verdant countryside, and stroll along the legendary Shingon Buddhist pilgrimage route. Visit a great variety of places from a very rural town set in a magnificent gorge to a castle town overlooking the Japan Sea. Explore the charming canal town of Kurashiki, a beautifully restored 300 year-old merchant town.

Come with us to Hiroshima Peace Park, Ground Zero for the atomic bomb dropped in World War II. Experience the Zen of Spirit Retreat in a place where peacefulness is a way of life.

Be in the center of the incredible arts of this ancient land. Among the craftspeople we visit are two of Japan’s most illustrious potters, and a co-operative specializing in hand-woven traditional and modern textiles.

October is a grand time of year to be in Southern Japan. During our visit you can expect the most clear, beautiful weather of the year, with a temperature range of upper 60s to lower 70s, most of the time.

On the whole, we will experience the nicest accommodations of any of the PTS Japan trips sponsored by Esprit Travel, by far. For example, a ferryboat takes us to one of our hotels, which is set within the architecturally renowned contemporary art museum, Benesse House, on Naoshima Island, where we take in a 360 view of the Inland Sea. See the beautiful, quiet, picturesque life along the Japanese seacoast, and enjoy soaking in hot springs and beautiful baths on most of the days of the retreat.

Fantastic food, great friends and fun, marvelous sight seeing, and a Spiritual retreat with John Morton, too! The cost is $5500, including roundtrip airfare from LA, retreat tuition, guides, transfers, accommodations and most meals.

The number of participants is very limited on this retreat, so call or email us now to reserve your space!
