These Internet broadcast Q&A evenings with John Morton grow more and more lovely with each passing month. Old friends and new friends gather together and chat up a storm with each other and with their guests in the Brentwood Ballroom of the 2101 Wilshire Building in Santa Monica. It was a relatively large turn-out in the ballroom on June 18, and many families had brought their youngsters and babies to enjoy the evening. We also had a large turnout of international participants via the live video feed on the Internet.
Rachel Morgan hosted the evening, and began by giving a little information about MSIA, and then calling in the Light. We chanted the Ani-Hu, an ancient name for the Supreme God, coupled with a frequency of empathy. Each time a large group chants this way, it is empowering to hear the human voice, connected through the heart to Spirit.
Then Rachel introduced Paul Davidson, who sang his newly written song, “Faithful”, about love and the freedom of the Soul. Paul played his guitar awesomely as usual. Then Rachel introduced John Morton, author of The Blessings Already Are, and the evening of Questions and Answers was off and running.
In a relaxed and jovial mood, John did a quick promotion for an upcoming Workshop, “Soul Initiation: The Science and Practice of the Names of God”, which will take place on Wednesday evening, July 3rd, at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, CA. John will be facilitating this workshop. There is no cost, there are no prerequisites, and all are welcome. John described how he had been researching early (1968 — 1977) John-Roger seminars for information and techniques for the workshop, in addition to using excerpts from the “Spiritual Exercises” Tape Packet. He suggested that those who are planning to attend could prepare themselves by listening to the tape, “25 Years of S.E. Excerpts.” He went on to describe what is in the tape packet, including a medley of excerpts, music, chanting, and a seminar. Next, John began taking questions. Internet questions came from: Northridge and Santa Monica, in California; from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; from Christchurch, New Zealand; Oaxaca, Mexico; and from Buenos Aires, Argentina. And, of course, guests attending in the Brentwood Ballroom asked questions as well.
John’s answers covered many subjects, such as: how he came to receive the keys to the Mystical Traveler Consciousness; what it is like to talk to God (the thing to remember is to know that God is always listening, and are we listening to God talking back?); how to overcome fear when dealing with family in another area of the country; how even physical areas of devastation and strife can be made better, and even beautiful through the power of prayer and sending Light and love to that area; what a spiritual marriage is and what takes place in it; how to expand the limits of our success; how to apply a state of openness to learning, regardless of where we finds ourselves; how Jesus and all people are assisted by angels; how to remove the limits to our viewing field, and to welcome the results of disillusionment into reality.
John also touched on: the calmness found in the state of Spirit, and how the Traveler consciousness guides from within; how to see with spiritual vision by closing the physical eyes; how God particularizes itself into bodies, as an emissary or an angel; how we can choose to co-operate with our mental and emotional processes, or wait for the “default option” of break-through/break-down, which can be a transcendental experience; how to know when one is ready to become an MSIA minister; what to do in response to the global unrest seen on television news (pray fervently, and don’t underestimate the power of prayer); and how to trust when fear regarding survival overcomes us.
John closed the evening with a Blessing (for which he has become well known), and then Rachel Morgan said a few words about Soul Awareness Discourses, and introduced Clea Rose, who sang “Lord May Your Light Shine Through Me.” A very nice variety of snack foods and coffee and tea were available while participants stayed to chat and share loving.
