A Blessings Blitz: IIWP Blessings Brunch with John Morton

Article imageAt the exquisite Melisse Restaurant in Santa Monica, CA, about 90 happy souls dined on six courses of divine treats while receiving an abundance of blessings from Spirit. It was the biggest turnout the Institute for Individual and World Peace (IIWP) has ever had for the Blessings Brunch with John Morton!

The beautiful and inspiring Judy Goldfader had the original idea for the Blessings Brunch and continues to be the main force behind its success. Due to the generous donation of $30,000 by Phyllis and Richard Mitz, over 30 raffle ticket winners were able to attend including many MSIA, PTS and Heartfelt Staff members. John and Laura Donnelley-Morton underwrote the brunch by donating $5,000 through their organization, Good Works, to make sure the proceeds would go directly to IIWP. IIWP donations support Windermere, Peace Workshops, e-mail classes, children’s workshops, and all the many ways IIWP reaches out to promote the processes that lead to peace.

As we began the delicious luncheon, we each wrote anonymously on cards what blessings we would like to receive. Our beloved John Morton then gave generously of his time and love reading through each card, making sure to acknowledge every one of our requests. With his warmth and finest humor, we received blessings from Spirit again and again. We even got to hear John sing a blessing! And he received more than one standing ovation as we blessed him in return.

Although specific personal concerns were not mentioned to the group, John said that the blessings were given through Spirit and that, as a group, we held for each other while angelic forces visited upon us. Many of the blessing requests sounded alike and themes repeated themselves, demonstrating once again that we are all the same at heart.

Some of the blessings I learned included that to have a blessing of more creativity, remember that we are powerful creators and to exercise that power. To have prosperity, handle what we already have, and be grateful. To move forward without fear, move forward with courage and with who we are. One of the sweetest blessings I heard was that for God to know that we love Him, awaken and be aware that God already knows and to pray that we know what God knows.

Blessings were offered for John-Roger’s health, John Morton’s ministry, and MSIA expansion. John ended our blessings blitz with a final blessing of opening and extending the blessings to all. As the restaurant staff nudged us out the door to prepare for their dinner crowd, John mingled with us and blessed us with his wonderful hugs. Blessed and blissed out, we all headed home overflowing with all the goodness bestowed upon us from Spirit.
