Outdoor Fun and Sharing with John Morton & John-Roger at Windermere

Article imageUnder clear blue skies, and with a slight breeze coming off the smooth Pacific Ocean, more than two hundred delightful Souls gathered under the shady oaks in the grove at Windermere for a day of outdoor fun and sharing with John Morton & John-Roger, sponsored by the Institute for Individual and World Peace (IIWP).

A small brigade of Santa Barbara volunteers provided a welcome for everyone, including crafts, playthings, games, and balloon hats for the many children attending with their parents. The older children entertained themselves climbing on the nearby rocks, and explored the terrain in general. IIWP staff member, George Pace, thrilled many by offering gently-paced horse-and-buggy rides around the property all afternoon.

Wood smoke from the professionally catered barbecue drifted across the ponds and meadows, luring even the most ascetic noses to feast on succulent chicken and sliced beef, green salad, and barbecue beans. Big giant cookies were the dessert.

Everyone wore headphones, attached to tiny radios tuned in to Radio Windermere (a limited area FM broadcast), so that John Morton’s Seminar could be heard by everyone, regardless of where they were sitting under the trees. Jonathan Wygant (whose adorable daughter was seen exploring everywhere, followed closely by her mother) acted as Master of Ceremonies, calling in the Light, and leading the Ani-Hu chant. He explained a little about the Institute for Individual and World Peace, and discussed some of the opportunities to participate in Peace, including the Adopt-A-Horse program.
