Communication: The Key to Loving and Serving — Our Representatives Meeting at Conference 2003

Hosted by Vincent Dupont, MSIA’s Marketing Director, our 2003 Reps meeting started out with the wonderful news about the re-igniting of Insight Seminars. Candace Semigran shared a delightful video of Insight years past. She spoke of how John-Roger, Founder of Insight, Russell Bishop, Creator of Insight, and John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA and Insight Facilitator, along with many Insight Facilitators around the world, have rededicated themselves to bringing Insight forward. Communication between Insight and all of the wonderful organizations founded by John-Roger has been sparked more than ever before.

Vincent Dupont and Valerie Bishop shared about a recent pilot program in Santa Barbara where MSIA headquarters helped the community plan an open class complete with beautiful flyers tailor-made for the event. Reps around the world can now do the same. All a Rep needs to do is let MSIA or PTS know of their community’s intention for an event. MSIA or PTS can offer suggestions and guidance about planning the event, and then they will send flyers that coordinate with MSIA expansion materials complete with the local event’s details. How easy and wonderful! If your community is interested, contact the Service Desk at servicedesk@msia.org or call (323) 737-4055 and ask for the Service Desk.

Vincent then explained that MSIA is launching a “spiral” marketing campaign in which we will be sending a link through email to an MSIA flash movie presentation, and that this link can be forwarded by email to our friends, family etc. NOW Productions then played this short flash presentation which uses a John-Roger quote from the book “Momentum: Letting Love Lead”, beautiful photos by David Sand and a lovely musical background to communicate the essence of the Traveler’s teachings. The link to this flash presentation will be automatically emailed to eNDH subscribers, so if you aren’t yet subscribed to the eNDH, you can go to www.ndh.org to subscribe.

Deborah Martinez, our beloved webmaster, encouraged us as Reps to share the teachings by taking advantage of all of our Internet offerings. She showed us how we can choose a particular Loving Each Day quote at www.lovingeachday.org by searching with a keyword. We then can email that Loving Each Day quote on an epostcard to any of our loved ones to communicate our love and support, and share the wisdom of the Traveler. Or, you can just forward the Loving Each Day quotes that you receive each day on email. It’s an easy way to introduce new people to Soul Transcendence. Deborah encouraged us to tune in to the monthly Internet Q & A’s with John Morton. She shared that these events are fun and easy ways for newcomers to get a delicious taste of the Teachings, all provided within the comfort of our own homes. Everything you need to know to participate in these events online is found at www.msia.org. Click on Live Webcasts.

Paul Kaye, President of MSIA, shared with us that the results of all the marketing research showed that still the best way to share the teachings is through word of mouth — through our personal communications with one another. Shining our Light, being an example of the teachings and sharing how the teachings work for us, is still the number one way to let others know about all the goodness available to them.

John Morton then reaffirmed that all the organizations founded by John-Roger are members of one family. We are all dedicated to making the teachings of the Traveler available to those who are looking for them. John shared a correspondence to a Rep from Vincent Dupont saying that we do the best we can in our service, improving as we go, knowing always that God’s Light and love fill in any gaps of our inadequacies. We are reminded then that not one Soul will be lost. God loves all of Its creation. So there is no pressure, no lack, and no separation. As Representatives of the Traveler, we do our best to make the teachings available and then we relax. We let go and let God.

John suggested that we pick the best way we can to express ourselves. He encouraged us to go beyond our frustrations and do our best to communicate with one another. He reminded us that John-Roger has said that the greatest sin is withholding. Withholding communication and information is to withhold our loving and to withhold ourselves. We move into our loving by letting others know us, by sharing who we are. “To know, know, know you is to love, love, love you.”

John, Vincent and Paul all encouraged Reps to communicate directly with them about our concerns. They welcome Reps’ questions and feedback, and email is the preferred and easiest way to do that. You can contact webmaster@msia.org if you need a particular email address for anyone on MSIA staff. As the MSIA Rep in South Florida, my experience is that through sharing my concerns and asking for help from MSIA headquarters, I have received an abundance of loving guidance and support. Even when I thought my questions were trivial or redundant, what I received back was inspiration, caring and useful feedback to help me stay on purpose and move forward in sharing my love for the teachings.

Marina Shilo, PTS Rep from Melbourne, Australia shared with me that what she heard in the meeting confirmed and re-inspired her. For Marina, communicating with Staff helps her feel more capable and competent in her service. Marina said that when she asks Staff questions about how to handle the many details of their visits, she feels the process reassures others that they will be well taken care of. Marina added, “We’re serving together. We’re taking care of each other. We are equals, and we bow to one another.” Communication is the key to caring and serving in the best way we can for all concerned.

In closing, John Morton reminded us that it is challenging to be who we are as spiritual beings in this world. But as Representatives of the Traveler, as those who have been chosen to do this work in this world, we are on purpose. And as we let go and let God, as we show up and get out of the way, we find there is protection and strength from Spirit available to us always in all ways.
