“If you go a little higher…you learn of the nine positive aspects of this planet, which reside in you and only awaken as a result of your activating them. They are love, life, light, peace, power, beauty, joy, harmony, and abundance.”
— John-Roger, from Passage Into Spirit

On September 28, 2003, a lovely gathering of close to 100 people came together to share in harmony and one accord at Prana, the home of Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens and headquarters for the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA). The evening, organized with the leadership, love and care of MSIA staff member Marjorie Eaton, featured a delectable dinner, a video seminar with John-Roger, founder and Spiritual Advisor of MSIA, and live music provided by a number of joyful souls, including Denise Lumiere, Erik Albrecht, Kim Guisinger, and Grammy Award-winning Celtic harpist and composer Lisa Lynne.

Our time of one accord began with a warm welcome from Carol Jones, program director for the Labyrinth & Gardens, and an invocation of God’s Light to begin the evening. Dinner came next, harmoniously prepared by chefs Claudie and Guillaume Botte and Karl Fledderman. And what an incredible dinner it was: Melt-in-your-mouth roast beef with mushroom sauce and grilled marinated tofu as entrees, with zucchini with fresh basil and a curried wild rice medley as accompaniment. As a perfect southern California day gently made its way into evening, we dined together outdoors in the courtyard, taking in the loveliness of the sunset, the shimmering of the meditation pool, and the happy sounds of laughter and exclamations of “Yum!” as we ate.

After dinner, Carol invited everyone to come indoors for the next segment of the evening program: Our live music with Denise, Erik, and Kim. As they each sang and shared their hearts with us, it seemed like we were being bathed in the most tender, soothing love, with a gentle call to relax and awaken. Among the songs they sang were “Beloved One” with Denise and “Lady of Light,” a song Erik wrote as a tribute to his mother when she passed over. Kim touched us all with her a cappella singing of a Celtic song, “One, Two, Three.”

The music was a perfect prelude to the high point of the evening, a video seminar with John-Roger. Following an introduction and another invocation of God’s Light by Marjorie Eaton, we watched the video “Peace is Present: Excerpts for Maintaining Loving.” The video was filled with footage from John-Roger’s travels around the world supporting greater peace on the planet. Each excerpt had its own melody of love and awareness, and they built upon each other like movements in a symphony. Folks cuddled in chairs and on sofas or simply stretched out on the carpet to drink in the harmony and peace.

Following the seminar, it is quite possible not a body would have moved for a very long time had it not been for the announcement of dessert. As guests made their way to Prana’s rotunda, they found exquisite raspberry-filled cakes with chocolate frosting waiting, with cr
