On Saturday, September 17th, as another wonderful Spiritual Spa Day is about to begin at Peace Labyrinth and Gardens, we are called together by our facilitator for the day, Mark Lurie. Mark is a minister in the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA) and a facilitator for Peace Theological Seminary (PTS). As Mark welcomes everyone he also introduces himself and states that he is also one of the administrators at Peace Labyrinth and Gardens. He invites everyone to relax and enjoy themselves, take care of themselves, and gives us all the logistics in a way that allows everyone to experience peace.

I enjoy Mark’s unique way of delivering information through his humor, honesty, youthful, playful, and just plain down-to-earth attitude. Mark has a way of being anchored in MSIA’s teachings in absolute clarity and awareness, and remaining in his focus while still being the guy next door. Mark goes on to explain to those who are new to the Gardens a bit of historical information about when MSIA purchased it in 1974. Now that he’s got our attention, and made us feel right at home and having a few laughs, Mark gets us to take a few deep breaths to bring us into a calm and calls us forward into the Light of the Spirit.

Following the invocation, Mark makes a point of congratulating everyone present as brave Souls coming today to work on completion. That is followed by applause. The first thing on the agenda is listening to one of a few excerpts by John-Roger, the founder of MSIA. The excerpt is on energy and completion. After the excerpt, Mark speaks a bit about incompletions. Then we are asked to take out our Peace Labyrinth and Gardens Journal, given to us as we arrived, and write down all of our “in-completions.” I must say, I have more than I thought.

That exercise is followed by Mark speaking on the judgments we have on our in-completions. That those judgments add an extra burden to our build-up of in-completions. At this time we go into a forgiveness process with ourselves as an inward journey. Afterwards we listen to another excerpt from John-Roger on how energy follows thought through completion. From there we listen to the So-Hawng Meditation by John-Roger and that gets us pretty smoothed out.

Next, Mark offers some tips and techniques in getting some of our in-completions handled — ways to work on simplifying our life with the bottom line of just getting things done. Doing is a bottom line key.

What we’ve all been waiting for is next. BRUNCH! I know we will have lots of completions on this. Awaiting us is a beautiful buffet brunch consisting of: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, roasted rosemary potatoes, Moroccan carrots and oven baked French toast. To add to all of that is a spinach salad with oranges and walnuts delicately tossed with a light dressing, and of course fresh spring greens with all the trimmings. Teas and coffees from Urth Caff
