Come and Walk Aruba’s Labyrinth and Enjoy a Moment of Peace

Article imageOn September 18, 2005, Insight Seminars Aruba invited the community of Aruba to walk the Peace Labyrinth of Aruba located just behind the Chapel of Alto Vista. Over 150 people came to walk the labyrinth and we felt very blessed to be of service to our community.
The Peace Labyrinth was created stone by stone by past Insight Graduates of Aruba. Insight Aruba offers this Peace labyrinth to the community for many to walk and find peace within themselves. On Wednesday, September 21, 2005, we held a special ceremony at the Aruba Peace Labyrinth as a dedication to the International World Peace Day.
Labyrinths are found in many cultures and date back as far as 3,500 years. The philosophy behind a labyrinth is based on something called “sacred geometry.” Labyrinths form an ancient pattern with only one path, which meanders into the center, and then out again.
The Aruba labyrinth is built based on the Chartres Labyrinth. Its distinguishing features are; 11 circuits, the turns arranged in four quadrants, 85 lunation’s around the perimeter, and a 6-petal rosette in the center. Modern “pilgrims” walk the labyrinthine path as one of many tools to enhance prayer, contemplation, meditation, and/or personal growth.
The labyrinth walk is popular with a growing number of people because of its simplicity and the ability to approach its paths on your own terms. There is no right way to walk a labyrinth. You only have to enter and follow the path. It may be joyous or somber. It might be thoughtful or prayerful. You may also use it as a walking meditation.
Insight Seminars, the organization behind Aruba’s labyrinth, is an international non-profit educational organization. More than one million people worldwide have participated in the Insight Seminar Series. Insight Seminars provides participants with practical tools for living more authentic, successful, and abundant lives.
We gladly invite our visitors to walk Aruba’s Labyrinth giving the opportunity to send a prayer to the victims and the families of hurricane Katrina.
