It was a simple theme–Choosing Loving–but oh so profound. All about the saying John-Roger coined: “I love you, God bless you, Peace be still.” As Dr. Jackie Peterson took us through a morning of discovering love, blessings, and the stillness of peace, I was struck how powerful that saying really is.
We applied it to situations that bothered or frustrated us. We applied it to people whom we found difficult, and we applied it to ourselves. And we found after saying it as many times as it took, we could finally choose a different response! I could choose loving instead of frustration, anger, resentment, or upset! How cool is that!
Jackie went on to describe how the process of using “I love you, God bless you, Peace be still,” over an extended period of time actually changed her relationships with others for the better and actually assisted in changing situations for the better. So we CAN effect our surroundings by changing ourselves and our responses to our surroundings. Lights went off above our heads as we basked in the ageless realization that change comes from within.
We listened to John-Roger’s meditation called The Light Attunement . In this meditation J-R helps us awaken to the Spirit inside through relaxation, looking, and opening our hearts.
Then we were off to brunch, an amazing selection of Southwest cuisine created by guest chef Allan Bradley, featuring chicken tenders smothered in Alva’s Mole sauce. And you could also choose a rich and complex Molcajete sauce. To cool off your palate, there was a sweet and tropical mango/tomato/basil salsa, a cheek-flushing Southwest salad, and a surprise-smack-your-lips-for peach/apple cobbler.
