Days 4 — 6 of the MSIA Travel Staff trip to Florida with John Morton

Article image MSIA travel staff are currently in Florida, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update from the trip:

DAY 4 — Jacksonville to Miami

Today Vincent and I are driving to Miami. Should be easy, as we take I-95 S practically all the way. After checking out of the hotel we head across the bridge over the St. John’s river and catch breakfast at the locals’ breakfast spot called the Metro Diner. I enjoyed being around the local color, but was ever so happy to get going on the road. I am driving and Vincent is in the navigator seat with his computer on his lap. We chat off and on as he does email. My inner radio is going with the U-2 song Surrender, or at least those are the words I keep hearing. Though the trip goes by very quickly, I am more than ready to be in Miami. Shortly after we arrive, Celia Allen-Graham and Lesley Freeman join us at the hotel. They have had a full day of Services, along with Deborah Martinez and Bruce Rosenfeld sitting in. Lesley and Vincent have much to catch up on, so Celia and I do dinner together and have our own catch up. Then it’s off to sleep because tomorrow Celia and I will drive to Coral Springs to do Services. Ah the bed feels great tonight.

DAY 5 — Miami

Today Celia, Maryann Settembrino and I have a little adventure in store for us. We’re driving to Coral Springs to do Services at Mirtha’s home. Lesley and Vincent are doing Services at our hotel. Our drive starts out normal enough, and then the rain starts….then the directions say one name and the road sign says another and soon we find ourselves on Alligator Alley on our way to Naples. And before too long we figure out that something is wrong with this picture. Ah, one of the may curve-balls of staff travels. Soon we find ourselves laughing as we try to figure out “where the heck are we.” When all else fails, we ask the toll road agent how to get to where we are supposed to be. Not to worry — we just have to turn around which is easier said then done. At last I just turn the car around on what passes for a road in the median strip, and we’re on our way. Feeling like real cowgirls, we make it safe and sound to our destination. Well as it was raining, the temperature took a dive so as we get out of the car, instead of a balmy 80 degrees, we’re at more like 60 and dropping. Wow, what a morning so far! And what happened to lovely balmy Miami weather?

The rest of the day was just another easy Services day, as we enjoyed being with Mirtha, Melba and our friends coming in for Services from the surrounding areas, such as Ft. Lauderdale and Broward. Mirtha and Melba were right there for us. Rather than deal with rush hour traffic we decided to find a dinner place nearby and head home later. It was fun dining with a bit of local color. Then we decided to do a little field trip to Whole Foods — one of our favorite staff pastimes. With a few goodies for each of us we jumped into our Trailblazer and headed back to the hotel. Mirtha had provided us, through the Internet, with some good looking directions back to the hotel. Well everything was going so smoothly when the road we were on came to a road closed sign –oops! Looks like the Mapquest / Google or whatever map site’s radar wasn’t quite on the latest road development. Hmm, what to do! Not to worry — between the three of us and a few u turns we finally made it back to our hotel a little more educated about the twists and turns and construction sites along the way. Soon afterwards John Morton calls and lets us know he’s also arrived. And now our Traveler’s road show is ready to go into full swing.

DAY 6 — Miami

Friday has all of us up and at ’em pretty early with meetings and preparations for the event room set up. Then we gals — Lesley, Celia and I — begin Services and Vincent goes into high gear setting up the audio/video. Ron Tabin, our Team Captain for all the events, is right there to help him out too. Stella Escobar, our lovely Miami MSIA rep, along with Teri Wunderman, Miami MSIA Rep Emeritus, are hostessing and coordinating the Services here at the hotel. There’s a lot of excitement as MSIAers are arriving from all parts of Florida, Georgia, Philadelphia, New York, Austin — just to name a few places. There are hugs and quick catch-ups throughout the day and an air of festiveness as we prepare for the first event of the weekend — the Open MSIA Seminar with John Morton.

Stella steps onto the stage with Luz Jaramillo who is our translator for this weekend. They welcome all of us graciously. I take the stage to introduce a video showing some of our newer study materials, and then Aura Maria Chavez serenades us with her velvety renditions of two Spanish songs. We are ready now ready to take off with the Traveler and fly the friendly skies of Spirit. And away we go! John, with Luz very much keeping pace with him, leads us through stories and sharings into a loving embrace of who we are as Souls. He ends this evening with several pieces, but the one that is my favorite is: “Choose you this day who you will serve. As for me and my house, we serve the Lord.”
