Springtime, the Traveler and the East Coast — MSIA Travel Staff’s Visit to the Northeast in 2007

Article image MSIA travel staff are currently on the East Coast, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update from the trip:

DAY 1

Rise and Shine! We troops are up early today to fly out of Los Angeles to Boston. My cab picks me up at 4:30am to rendezvous with Vincent Dupont, Lesley Freeman and Roger Wakefield at the airport. Roger is going on a different airline than we are, but he’s handing off all the sound equipment to us so we all meet at the American Airlines doorway. We have to be extra vigilant because we are all on the sleepy side. Mercifully check-in is quick and soon we are at the gate nursing our teas and coffees waiting for our flight to board. Once on the plane time literally flies as we snooze and “voila!” it’s afternoon and we’re in Boston.

Everything also goes smoothly on this end as Lesley rounds up the luggage while Vincent and I go get the rental vans. After loading up the luggage/equipment we caravan out to the suburbs and our Sheraton hotel. We notice how Spring is gently showing herself to us in some flowering trees and bushes. Tonight I have a dinner meeting with the local team – Louise McCarthy, Monica Simpson, Randy Richard, and Suzan Valascovic. Lisa Boone, Charlie Verge and Leslie Fabian who also helped with preparing for our staff visit couldn’t make the dinner, but we are grateful for all their assistance.

During dinner we re-cap what worked and what didn’t with the preparations for Services and the workshop, and what are the next steps for this MSIA community. I was happy and grateful that each of these lovely volunteers made the time to be with me. Once again showing their great devotion to the Traveler’s work being done as excellently and lovingly as possible. Dinner done, I’m happy to rendezvous with my bed. Tomorrow is a full day of Services!

DAY 2 — Boston

It’s a little chilly today in Boston. We have a regular leisure day of doing Services. Lesley and Vincent head off to Charlie Verge’s and I stay at the hotel to do Services. Elizabeth Frumin and Bruce Rosenfeld are the balancers-in-training at Charlie’s, and MaryAnn Settembrino is sitting in with me. The day seems to fly by as we greet old friends and catch up on the past year’s happenings. Then it’s time for dinner and Vincent and I do a little dinner meeting and review the workshop for tomorrow night. Ah, time for a few emails, some reading, and bed feels ever so good tonight.

DAY 3 — Boston

This morning Maryann and I have a nippy walk to a nearby cafe to collect some good coffee and then have a brisk walk back for some breakfast. Vincent and Lesley join us and we enjoy some laughs and stories as we prepare for our day of Services. Off go Lesley and Vincent to Charlie’s and I stay at the hotel again. Leslie Fabian is my hostess today and looks after me beautifully. More friends–new and old–to enjoy, and then before I know it Vincent stops by to pick me up so that we can go facilitate the Detachment/Freedom workshop. We’ve been provided with some very clear sounding directions but as we make our way over to the workshop location we soon find that the street signs, or lack there-of, have us going on a treasure hunt for our workshop location. Vincent and I start experiencing detachment from ever finding our workshop location. No one is answering our phone calls and soon we are laughing freely and hilariously in our car as everything seems to be conspiring to keep us away for our destination. Finally we talk with one of the town locals who speaks English and isn’t “just visiting” and are put straight on directions. Just about that time one of our friends at the workshop location finds us by cell phone and finishes directing us-like a homing beam. What a perfect set-up for tonight’s theme and we’re off and running looking at what are attachments and how to detach and enjoy the freedom. These workshops seem so simple, yet each time I facilitate I’m struck by the perfection of the theme for where I am in my life. Such a blessing!

Well, we’re also blessed in that Charlie is going to make sure we don’t do too much sight-seeing on the way home, so he leads us back. Still buzzed from being at the workshop and all that loving and fun, I greet Cleora who by now has arrived to join our trip. She’s been waiting up for me to get back to our hotel room. We do as much gabbing as we can fit in before sleep captures us. Tomorrow we will drive from Boston to Phoenicia–and there’s always good catching up to do on these drives.
