How Can I Be a More Loving Parent?

Article imageAs a parent, keep the consciousness of loving your child present with you. It is a responsibility. Everybody has loving in them, but there is another choice beyond that, which has to do with you consciously allowing the loving to come over you and be present in all that you are doing. So if you can look at your children, consider them, and think of them in that consciousness of loving, that’s the best protection I know. Consciously loving your children brings you present with the power and creation and all that can be done.

You can then become like those mothers who lift cars off their children. In one sense, that’s unexplainable. But in looking at the love, we understand that there is a power in that loving that can meet every circumstance and overcome the negativity that’s present.

We can’t run our children’s blood, and we can’t breathe oxygen for them. They have to do that themselves. But we can ask for grace and assistance to be brought to them inside through their own consciousness so they makes good choices, realize what supports them, gain awareness of what doesn’t work, and make decisions for what does work.

Part of the learning, part of the exampleship that you can set, is in the way you are conducting your life and taking care of yourself. Have that intention toward your children so they can see it, feel it, and pick up on it as a form of awareness. It’s like if a draft came in the room, we would all have the opportunity to feel it as a presence. Our love for our children can be something that presents itself when we are physically present. Our love can also be the love that is always with our children, even when we’re not around.

It’s very important for us to help our children understand that it is not about, “Hey, Mom and Dad, whenever you’re around I’m fine. I’m protected. I’m safe. So, when you’re not around, I’m not fine. I’m not protected. I’m not safe.” That’s not what we want to be teaching our children. We want to be teaching our children that what brings forward the wellness, the safety, and the protection is what God provides us. It is up to us to have the wit and choose to partake in those blessings.
