MSIA Minister Ezra Mack Serves the Ground Zero Relief Workers And You Can Too

This article came from a letter sent to the NDH web editor.

I want to let you and the NY area MSIA community know of a wonderful opportunity that is available for service to the community.

For a few months now I have been going down to the World Trade Center site to assist in the relief effort that is ongoing there. While the relief effort is winding down, there are still many opportunities to help out. One in particular is a ministry that is being carried out at Saint Paul’s Chapel on Broadway near Fulton street. The opportunities include: preparing and serving approximately seven hundred meals to the relief workers; providing coffee and tea; handing out medical and clothing supplies; preparing cots for sleeping; and holding the light for their rest, upliftment and healing. Body Workers are also very welcome!

The shifts last twelve hours, from eight AM till eight PM, and then from eight PM until eight AM. Right now their greatest need is for the evening shift on April 23 and April 24, and again on April 29 and April 30. They ask for groups of anywhere from 12 to 15 people to come at a time. The shifts go pretty quickly and it is an amazing opportunity to directly serve and minister to the many people standing forward in the relief effort in the area. These include NYPD, NYFD, Salvation Army, Regular Army, Sanitation, and World Trade Center Relief. There is also an open opportunity in May, although they are not setting the schedule yet.

I have been a number of times and feel so much appreciation and fulfillment after each shift. It has been so much fun to meet the groups that have been coming in from all over the country to do this service and I thought how nice it would be to stand forward with a group of folks from my own spiritual community. So, if you are called forward to participate, please email me at Fineartcom@aol.com leaving your name, email address, and phone number as well as the times you would be available on the dates mentioned above in April, and any dates you might be available in May. Generally speaking, the slots they have the greatest need for added assistance continue to be mid-week night shifts. Please let me know soon as spaces do fill up.

Thanks so much for this opportunity to share part of my ministry with you all.

In Peace and With Love,

Ezra Mack
