Not Letting Anything Interfere Between Us And God

In the summer of 2012 the Spanish community was blessed with the presence of John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young in Madrid. I had then the blessing to serve my community, John, and Spirit translating the words of love, healing, and wisdom from John during these two wonderful seminars. Again this year, John and Leigh have chosen to call in at Madrid in their tour to England.

John conducted – in our view- two powerful evening events that filled the community with joy and loving. In hindsight these two workshops complemented the core message I took away from the two workshop he had held last year: don´t let anything stand between you and God.

I sensed that Spirit was healing and soothing those in the room and many outside the room. It is no secret that Spain is a country going through an intense process of renewal and healing.

I have shared with my wife Moira the observation that the devotion of participants was more palpable than in previous events. We also talked about what it meant to hold an intention of not letting anything stand between us and God. I have discovered that negativity is really smart in distracting me and turning my eyes away from the Lord. In a country bombarded with news of corruption, economic crisis, financial scandals, it is easy to put this negativity between us and God and disperse the commitment to do spiritual exercises and thwart the practice of unconditional loving and forgiveness.

At the end of John, Leigh, and Paul Kaye´s visit, many participants had shared with me about the shift in attitude that had taken place in the community. I was intrigued to remember how Spain had as early as 1997 hoped to have a Master of Spiritual Science course in Spain. Today the community is running the year two of the Masters class facilitated masterfully by Enrique Gomez who is working with a small number of dedicated people who seemed to be transformed by the power of their loving practice.

John and Leigh also found the time to enjoy, relax, and minister. Soon after their arrival, Paul Kaye, Leigh and John, attended a Flamenco show in response to a wish Leigh had made last year. Needless to say, the night was lit with a loving Light that those present seemed to be collectively vibrating to, not only to the energy of the flamenco dancers, but to the presence of Spirit itself.

The following day, Leigh, John and I headed to The Valley of the Fallen, a majestic monument erected between 1940 and 1958 with the hard work and painful blood of the Republican prisoners of war whom had lost the Spanish Civil War in 1936-1939.

It became apparent to me that we had been called forward to do service and help the Light dilute the resentment, comfort the despair, transform the pain, and release the anger of those still caught in the negativity of this brotherly confrontation. Not surprisingly we had arrived on time to participate in the mass that was taking place in the Abbey by the Benedictine monks. The Abbey is carved inside a gigantic solid granite rock with hardly any sophisticated tools. The entry to the Abbey is guarded by two enormous sculptures of the Archangel Michael. A great place to shoot a scene for Dan Brown´s next best-selling novel, John remarked as we walked toward the pulpit. A great example of ordinariness in the midst of the extraordinary!

The Community is deeply touched by the opportunity it had to welcome John, Leigh, and Paul in their lovely visit to Spain. My wife Moira and I treasure in our hearts the many blessings partaken and look forward to welcoming the presence of John, Leigh and Paul again in the future. In the meantime, we continue to learn how to remove everything that stands between us and God in our journey into who we truly are.

Light, Love, and Laughter,

Marcos and Moira
