The publication of my second book, The Dreams of a Master, was perfectly timed to take place during the last day of the Living in Grace Retreat at Asilomar on December 15, 2019. It was the first Living In Grace Retreat at Asilomar since John-Roger passed into Spirit. It was the ideal time to launch the book.
Over the years, our group has undoubtedly generated a great deal of healing energy at Asilomar. Coincidently or not, last month in March, 19 passengers from the Grand Princess cruise ship with mild symptoms of the COVID-19 coronavirus were quarantined at the Asilomar property by government officials. Hopefully, our residual energy helped them all to recover.
The Dreams of a Master officially debuted on December 28 with an interactive event and book-signing at Mystic Journey Crystals, a sister gallery to Mystic Journey Bookstore, in Venice, CA. Since 2008, we have been very grateful to the owner, Jeffrey Segal, who has hosted many John-Roger book events. Jeff allowed me to launch my first book, The Love of a Master, on J-R’s birthday in 2017, September 24, in the back room of the bookstore.
The Dreams of the Master is a cool book that shares how I have navigated through my grieving process since J-R’s transition, by listening to John-Roger seminars and using his techniques that support me the most. Although I am still grieving his loss on the physical, there is now more time in between periods of grief. Initially, after J-R passed, it was nonstop…but today, I am living my life, traveling, and bringing J-R’s still-present energy to communities across the globe.
The Coronavirus pandemic has created quite a bit of a stir. My sense has been “onward and upward, stay calm, and carry on.” I learned quite a bit from spending so many years with J-R, particularly about getting the information and stepping back from the reaction, without getting involved in it personally. Along those lines, I just read a great quote from David Allen, author of Getting Things Done: “Chaos is in the world. Not in your head.”
Following my book launch at Mystic Journey Crystals, I hit the road and drove up to check in on Delile and Elda Hinkins, J-R’s brother and sister-in-law in Utah. I was there with John and Leigh Taylor-Young Morton to celebrate the Hinkins’ 70th wedding anniversary. We served as J-R’s ambassadors for the occasion. I know he would have wanted that, and it was an enjoyable experience to share in their enduring love.
I continued the Dreams of a Master tour in Arizona with my MSIA family there. As always, it was lovely being hosted by Angie and Mike Nicolucci in Phoenix, and by Don and Donna Cook in Marana, near Tucson. It was an incredible turnout in both places. We had a Minister’s Meeting at the Cooks as well, and I spoke afterward and sold some books. With John Morton’s approval to do so, we played John-Roger ministers-only videos following a ministers meeting. This is strictly for ordained MSIA ministers. We did the same in Tucson, too. So if you’d like me to screen a J-R ministerial video in your community the next time I visit, just let me know in advance.
Next, I went off to teach my two-day course at the month-long Insight IV training in Santiago, Chile. John Morton was also there doing his part of the Seminar. If you’ve never taken Insight IV, I encourage you to sign up the next time they offer this—it is a fantastic experience.
In Dreams of a Master, I explain what I learned from J-R about discerning Travelers in our dreams. For instance, I had a dream that I was on stage with John Morton several times. I realized it was what I call a “premonition dream.”
For nearly 30 years, since I began serving on J-R’s staff, I have journaled to keep track of things. I’m also a graduate of the PTS Doctor of Spiritual Science program, where students do a significant amount of tracking. So it’s in my DNA by now. I journaled about my dreams about being on stage with John Morton, tracked, kept at it, and sure enough found myself on stage with John Morton in Bulgaria during Insight IV. I did some processes with him and taught my segment for two days. I don’t want to divulge too much because you should take Insight IV yourself (and Insight I, II, and III as prerequisites).
After the Insight IV, I held a few J-R marathons in Chile with Reymi Urrich and Vania Grimalt. It was incredible to be there at the same time as Insight IV with all that uplifting energy. Last October, I had spent several weeks holed up with the MSIA community in Santiago, when the violent protests led to a temporary state of emergency. It was wonderful to reconnect with everyone there again and re-energize the Light columns from before.
When I came home, I presented a talk at the home of Richard and Kate Klein in Newbury Park, CA, on February 16. The next Sunday, on February 23, I did a sweet Dreams of a Master book-signing at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, CA. David Sand took photos. There were many MSIA ministers in attendance, as well as people unfamiliar with J-R who were touched by his energy. The main thing is for me to share the book as much as I can. It’s my ministry.
Then I took a quick trip up to northern California to do some MSIA work for John Morton. It’s a beautiful way to serve, I have always done that for both J-R and John. I love doing it.
Nicole and I visited Santa Barbara for a J-R Marathon on March 1, then I got a hit to travel to Australia with Nicole for the annual MSIA Conference there. This was just before the virus broke out.
At one of John Morton’s open seminars in Australia, hosted by Ian Mills at John Haysen’s home on a Tuesday night, it was packed with about 70 non-Discourse subscribers and only a few MSIA ministers. These people had been participating in MSIA introductory meditation evenings focusing on Soul Transcendence, but only some had seen John-Roger and John Morton videos. It was incredible; the energy was like the 1980s Insight. They were exposed to the Traveler for the first time and had a chance to ask him questions, which was very interesting and beautiful to watch.
Next, I had been invited to observe and support John at the “The Highest Good” workshop. It was fantastic! The Australians loved it. There was to be a BlessingsFest raffle at the end of the Thursday night open seminar. While John led a meditation, I was having an inner dialog with J-R. I heard J-R ask, “What do you want?” I replied, “I just want to serve and be loving.”
The next thing I knew, my name was being called out loud by Vincent Dupont, who pulled my ticket out for the raffle. So I won a seat to the BlessingsFest; I hadn’t attended one in years. I must say that the BlessingsFest is incredible, and the blessings come true. They do come true. Write them down for the highest good.
For my book events, we stayed at the Campbell’s home (my fiancée Nicole’s family) in Woy Woy, Australia, about an hour north of Sydney. There is a beautiful place nearby called The Gnostic Forest and Gnostic Bunch. It is an incredible metaphysical New Age store. I did my book signing there, and then I brought books to the MSIA Conference. People loved the book. It’s not a new philosophy. It’s all about J-R and the way that I work the J-R teachings.
Towards the very end of our trip, the coronavirus outbreak worsened, and I returned home just in time. The internet is full of all sorts of conspiracy theories. I remember J-R watching his computer soon after the internet was popularized. At the time, J-R said that the Internet could be used for evil or good; and according to him, evil just means unnecessary experiences. So, if we merely observe, if we just do our work in the inner, we can be the containers and conductors of divine energy. Let us not get caught up in the chaos and fear, because while it is a fact that something is affecting people who are getting sick, what isn’t real is the mania.
In closing, I want to say, let’s not look at this as an obstacle but as an opportunity. Let’s be more loving with ourselves and others…to help people if we can. To move MSIA folks into knowing Zoom and Facebook and other online platforms for greater connection through the World Wide Web and truly be in One Accord. I have listened to J-R, and I have been directed to screen J-R Marathon & Satsang on Zoom & Facebook live every night indefinitely from 7 pm to 1 am LA Time.
