MSIA Presidency Update – October 2024

All is well.  The new PTS school year is underway, and the Traveler is in Italy doing a scouting trip for next year’s 2025 PTS Travelers Through the Ages Tour of Italy.

Prana is looking for a new chef to replace the wonderful Ned O’Neill who is going on to other adventures after more than six years cooking at Prana with David Funk, who retired in July.   Please send the Light to a terrific replacement.   Ned and David have done great work feeding Prana residents, staff, and visiting students, and masterfully coordinating food for Prana events.   If you are interested, or know someone who might be a good fit, please check out the Prana chef job description here.

We have had a few people ask us questions about how MSIA is using Artificial Intelligence (AI).    AI is in the news pretty much every day and there are more applications for its use showing up everywhere.  We are staying abreast of AI technology and looking at how it could be helpful.  One area where we’ve started making use of AI is for translating MSIA materials in various languages. As it’s continually improving and learning MSIA-specific vocabulary and expressions, it’s starting to make a real difference and is helping speed up the translation process. For the Conference Ministers and Initiates meetings in July, we experimented with providing real-time close caption subtitling in Russian and Japanese. There’s plenty of room for improvement but it’s an exciting feature and headed in the right direction.

If it is about the words, we are sure AI can do a great job with things like Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and logistical information.  But MSIA is not about the words – everyone has the words these days – it’s about the energy. AI cannot convey, or be a carrier for, MSIA energy per se.   It is a tool that needs to be used deliberately and safely.  We currently don’t see it as a vehicle of the teachings, unless it is quoting John or J-R directly.

Those of you who are climbing the inner path need only one blessing – endurance – for those who keep the spiritual law to the end and endure all things receive the most precious gift of Soul awareness, which is eternal life through eternal awareness on any level in any existence.

This means that no matter what happens, no matter how you feel, no matter how anybody else feels, no matter what you think, no matter what anyone else thinks, you go on.

No matter what is or is not, you go on. You really have no other choice. So regardless of what is said, regardless of what happens, you always keep going on to the next thing.

If you’re right, you keep going. If you’re wrong, you keep going. Right or wrong is not even a point of contention. Keep going. If you’re in an illusion, go through it. If you’re in truth, go on to greater truths.

John-Roger, DSS

MSIA’s That Which Is streaming platform has been such a rich resource for participating in the Traveler’s teachings.  Vincent and his team have added many features and much content over the years.  We thought it would be fun to share with you how we all use That Which Is.

David Jaramillo uses it every day to help students and guide them in how to use it.  If someone can’t find a seminar — we haven’t uploaded into That Which Is yet — David gives the title to Leo Cereceda and he gets it right into the platform.  Of course, personally he has his meditation list to listen to before bedtime.

Sherie uses That Which Is to research topics for PTS event script design and promotional ideas.  She also uses it to educate herself on various topics for personal growth and expansion. She loves connecting to That Which Is when she takes the train to Los Angeles or Northern California, as well as listening when she is waiting in line or waiting almost anywhere.  She finds there is so much to learn and look forward to each time she connects in and has a sense of being abundant because there is so much to look forward to every time she plugs into the Traveler’s library.

Paul Kaye uses it for his SAT seminars and for the occasional seminar that comes to his attention.   For Jeffrey, the biggest value of That Which Is has been being exploratory and far reaching in finding new seminars, just letting it play through seminars he doesn’t know yet.  Then he curates seminars that really speak to him in the custom playlists, organized more in terms of when he likes to play them or what experience they evoke inside rather than the topics of the seminars.   For example, a sleep playlist for seminars and meditations that tend to take him out of his body quickly when he has trouble sleeping.

Mark is also a fan of the playlists with a “sleepy time” play list and a list of all time faves like The Absolute Here with the Golden Temple Meditation.

Vincent, of course, has the most tips on some of his favorite uses/features about TWI:

–        The ability to create customized playlists is one of my favorite features in the App. For instance, I have one called “Queue” where I put any selection someone recommends or if I see a promotion somewhere and it resonates with me. I can make the entries randomly and when I access the playlist later, I can reorder them in any priority or sequence I choose.

–        Sometimes I forget whether I’ve already listened to a seminar, including some of the ones that are in my queue, and now I can easily check by simply opening the selection and underneath the player screen it tells me “Last viewed on” and a date.

–        If you are a seminar leader and you are subscribing to the Seminar Leader version of TWI, you can create a playlist of seminars you want to play for your group, or one to simply keep track of the seminars you played for your group.

–        If you travel a lot as I do, or if you live in an area where you don’t have dependable access to Wi-Fi and/or a phone network, the “Offline” playlist is a great way to still be able to view/listen to your favorite seminars or meditations any time you choose. When you are connected to a Wi-Fi or phone network, put the selections of your choice in your “offline” playlist and they will get downloaded to your phone so you can access them any time.

–        And of course the search function is an essential resource when looking for specific content.

We love to hear about creative ways people are using That Which Is.   Send us your unique recommendations so we can pass them along.

God Bless you and thank you for participating in MSIA, and for all that you give in so many ways. As J-R would constantly remind us, “It is the loving that makes all this work.” We love and appreciate you!
