Trusting in the Lord

When we look at trust, we want to ask ourselves, “What I am placing my trust in?” I place my trust in the Lord. Yet, I find there’s a kind of battle going on within us at times.

Part of our trust is being called toward fear, doubt and condemnation. You may relate to it more as greed or lust or avarice. I think of it all as negativity. Regardless of what you call it, it is an off-putting energy. It’s an energy that is into being lost, rather than found. So if you attempt to play in the field of fear, you lose.

The reality that negativity presents is that there is separation and that separation is the truth with no way out. It’s an energy that’s into being lost with no way out rather than found. Why would you want to trust something where there’s no way out and no resolution? I wouldn’t.

Not having trust in the Lord creates a consciousness within you who lives in fear and holds back. Without trust, you may not utilize your natural power least you get caught or something does you in. It’s as if you’d rather stay in a foxhole because the foxhole appears to be the safe place rather than trust and move.

Consider the consciousness of Light. As you go forth in the consciousness of Light, you will be increased. Everything that comes to you, everything that happens, will be to your advantage. It will serve you.

That’s a whole different kind of message from the one that says to fear and hold back. In truth, there’s nothing to fear. So you can do anything, right? Yes, however there’s responsibility that goes along with whatever you choose to do.

Have great discernment about what you’re choosing into. When you’re choosing into the Light, you can trust that completely. It’s functioning through a radiation that’s true, always true, and completely true. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth — that truth. It’s a truth that doesn’t deceive you.

Getting ahold of that Light energy and placing yourself in that energy can be a great challenge because there are other energies clamoring for your attention in terms of living in this world. Ultimately, those negative energies are just illusionary. They’re tests. They’re things that tempt you or distract you, but they never actually get you. They never actually stop you. They can’t hold you back unless you choose to let them. So there’s nothing to fear there.

I’ve heard John-Roger talk about the greatest sin as being withholding. When I first heard that, it really caught my mind. I hadn’t thought about holding back in that way. I’d thought murder, hatred or blasphemy was the greatest sin. I wondered what he meant by withholding being a sin.

I know I withhold. I can’t seem to help it at times. I’m not always feeling courageous. I’m not always open. Therefore, I may be withholding at those times. I’ve come to better know that it’s a choice to hold back, to not fully live or engage our self in our life. That’s where we end up losing. Instead, we can release ourselves and live freely. The truth of what that means is to truly live freely and openly with nothing held back.

The meaning of love the Lord, thy God with all thy body, all thy mind, all thy spirit is more understandable. Whatever you’ve got, trust in the Lord and direct that into loving God however you know that to be. You may ask, “Who or what is God that I may love it?”

God is all things. So we are to love everything. What if there is something you don’t love? What if you consider something as not being of God? Then that’s the next thing you need to love. If you don’t love that, if you choose to distrust and withhold your loving, then that’s the thing that will have you captive because you will not love it. Jesus put it in real practical terms — Love your neighbor as yourself. Love one another.

Look at how are you doing with that level of loving. Look at how you are choosing to trust and to love it all. If you’re having a difficult time loving yourself, then by the time you get to loving your neighbor it could be quite challenging. So get busy loving yourself first. Choose to trust in the Lord and love it all the way the Lord loves you.

Blessing for Trusting in the Lord

Lord God, we give thanks that you have brought us together.
We ask for our consciousness to be awake to the Light that is you and the Holy Spirit and the Christ.
This is a field anchored in that consciousness that is the Christ, and in the personal vibration is
the one we call Jesus, and through all those in that line that is the Traveler.
We bring it forth here and now in our consciousness so we are fully awake in our divine nature.
We are patient with our process that finds limitation and where we have placed restrictions.
We are patient as we learn to handle what comes before us.
We trust Your willingness to bring it in perfect timing and not insist that it is done the way we want unless that serves for the best.
We give thanks for the joy in Your presence. We celebrate that joy.
Right now, we ask that whatever is not serving be taken so that in this moment all that we’re
aware of is the consciousness of joy and the freedom of Your spirit that pervades all of creation.
It is done. It is before us. It is true.
