Representatives from all of the Traveler-related organizations had a “Love Fest” on Thursday morning of MSIA’s Conference of Heartfelt Service. Coffee was served before the meeting, which produced a lot of enthusiastic talkativeness.
The meeting was facilitated by Dr. David Bransky, DSS, and by our gracious Leigh Taylor-Young, who called us forward into the Light and led us in chanting the Ani-Hu. We heard an audio excerpt of John-Roger, giving a truly beautiful prayer for Service. One of MSIA’s Presidency, Vincent DuPont, gave an update, touching particularly on some upgraded Internet technology that MSIA is using or soon will be using to share the Teachings of MSIA.
Then David Bransky reminded us that when we create time to touch into our own loving, we can share effectively from that space. Leigh shared a J-R quote regarding Loving as the Key, and she prepared us for an “interactive” experience. After a closed-eye process, we went about quietly sharing our own personal message of service with our fellow Reps, building a beautiful energy of giving and receiving among us. After taking sharings, Leigh led us in a quiet reflective process about our own experiences with being of service. Then we heard a blessing by John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA, about serving in the Light.
We had a thirty minute break for more coffee, chatting with our friends from all over the planet, and some of the most delicious food, produced for us by David Funk and Kelley Sheehan-Funk.
After the break, David Bransky called in the Light again, and introduced Debbie Roth and Doreen Dietsche. They presented a video presentation from the Philadelphia MSIA community called “The Power of Intention.” Then, Zoe Golightly spoke about her experiences of marketing the film Spiritual Warriors, using Facebook and Twitter, encouraging Reps to use Facebook and Twitter to share the teachings of MSIA. Then Julie Lurie, staff member of Peace Theological Seminary, described some future educational tools that PTS will be using for online learning, and online classes.
Leigh Taylor-Young then introduced John Morton, who gave us so many inspirational moments as he talked. He said that when things are at their worst, that’s the time to call on Spirit and the Travelers. He told us to find simple ways, in any given moment, in which we can serve. And he reminded us that whatever the world’s conditions are, there is a core of goodness in each person that cannot be destroyed. A beautiful, cooling peace came into the room as he made many references to the life and teachings of Jesus the Christ.
In closing he asked, “How will they know us?” Not by our rules and regulations, but by the way we were loving with each other, and by the way we share that loving in jubilation and celebration. After the words Baruch Bashan, David Bransky made a few closing announcements, and our meeting was complete. So much loving, so many dear moments, such a privilege to be there.
