Over 35 Heartfelt and HeartReach representatives gathered for a scrumptious lunch and loving sharing with: Heartfelt’s Executive Director Patti Rayner; MSIA’s Spiritual Director John Morton; the MSIA Presidency, Paul Kaye, Vincent DuPont and Mark Lurie; and the Service Boards of both Heartfelt and HeartReach. Our luncheon was graciously sponsored by MSIA who provides the financial foundation and support for Heartfelt/HeartReach. Sitting around one large table connecting us all, volunteer representatives from Australia, Mexico, and throughout the United States shared about their service projects and plans for greater ways to serve through Heartfelt & HeartReach.
With tenderness and steadfast devotion, Patti Rayner spoke about how Heartfelt/HeartReach is expanding and touching others in greater ways than ever before. Patti shared that healing seems magnified through Heartfelt/HeartReach due to the loving we freely give in the action of our service. Patti added that every way we choose to serve is perfect when it is done from our loving hearts.
Specific new programs that Heartfelt/HeartReach have developed include: Guardian Angels, Ministering Angels, Union of Prayer Communion, Eldereach, and Circle of Light. Each representative attending the luncheon received a packet of information about these special ways to serve, both individually and in groups.
The HeartReach Service Board members let us know that we can contact them for support and guidance — Annette St. John (Guardian Angels & Ministering Angels), Barbara Hill (Union of Prayer Communion), John Lee & Edward Cohen (Eldereach), and Glenn Barnett & Steve Small (Circle of Light). Glenn Barnett added that HeartReach aims to serve our spiritual family “from the cradle to the grave,” meaning that volunteers choose to lovingly serve all, regardless of age or health concerns.
The Heartfelt Service Board members (Michael Hubbard & Neal Cohen) shared about the abundance of donations and service that have come forward to help needy children and their families in the Los Angeles area. They too offered their loving support and guidance for developing Heartfelt service projects in our communities. Paul Kaye noted that because many people are coping with significant economic challenges at this time, Heartfelt service is needed now more than ever.
Representatives shared about Heartfelt and HeartReach activities, ranging from serving one person through Eldereach to serving thousands at a Christmas event. Some representatives noted that they serve by themselves, while others have groups of volunteers serving together. Some communities have organized Circle of Light for their loved ones in transition, while other communities have gathered donations to help needy children in impoverished circumstances.
John Morton shared that, through Heartfelt service, we are called upon to do whatever we can to help. John noted that we bring the blessings of Spirit forward as we choose to show up and serve with loving. As John shared with us and we shared with each other, we all experienced the blessings that come present through our devotion to service and to loving one another. Our luncheon came to a sweet close as each representative left with a bright red tote bag displaying the beautiful message and truth of Heartfelt — “Heartfelt Foundation: Changing people’s lives through the healing power of Heartfelt service.”
