Traveler Q & A

Article imageQ: I didn’t understand what you said at the Initiates Meeting—to the effect of needing such a large group in order to bring the information down.

J-R: When I give a seminar, I speak to the group consciousness. If the group as a whole is awake and alert and focused on holding the Light, it is more likely that new information can be brought forward.

Q: When I try to let go of my past and forgive, I get stuck in my thoughts about what happened instead. How do I really let go of all that stuff and go on with my life?

J-R: Keep focusing on how you’re progressing. Instead, we often keep referencing back to the last hurt, pain, anguish, and upset. And guess where we are? Back at that. We can’t cure it because it’s in the past, and we’re already in our present and future, dealing with the past, and we can’t do a thing with it. We’ve got to get it up to here and now, which we can do. Just be addressing it, we bring it present. Then we bring in the acceptance and the forgiveness. In that is the letting go. And then we must forget it and move on by bringing our focus, awareness and attention to right now, to what is before us to do.

Q: Could you talk about faith?

J-R: We work at this level and have faith on the next level. And then we do se’s to tranfer across. We don’t have faith within ourselves. In the Bible it says, “Oh God, restore my faith to me. Oh, God, cure me of my disbelief.” We can’t do anything about that. So we say to God, “Give me your faith,” which is God’s essence. Then we have the strength to continue on. We have to ask, though, because Spirit will not inflict.

Q: I’ve heard the phrase, “Why ask for as loaf of bread when you could ask for the grocery store,” and I still don’t know what to ask for. I don’t want to seem greedy.

J-R: Don’t worry, if it’s greedy, you won’t get it. Just say, “Okay, I’ll take the store, all the store. I’ll take whatever you want to give me, for the highest good.” You ask for the highest good just in case there’s someone out there with negative power who can deliver it to you and make you curse the day you asked for it.
I have been so blessed that I haven’t gotten a lot of things I wanted. You can’t believe it!
Just ask for the highest good, and then ask. Ask boldly, ask bravely, ask confidently, because it’s the Father who’s going give it to you. When your daughter comes up to you and asks, “Daddy,?” she probably gets what she’s asking for a hundred times out of a hundred, though maybe not exactly the way she asks. If you’re going to give to her with your loving, what do you think our Father is going give to us with that loving?
That’s how we approach this. With the total assurance that the Divine nature is fulfilling itself. And we just have to keep asking into it.

Q: Completion and intention both seem important in terms of knowing God, getting to God, but I don’t understand how to work either of them. Can you help?

J-R: God is a responsible creator and a completer of His creation. We’ve got to do the same thing, because we are God also—not “the” God, but of God.
All we have to do to complete is to recognize where we are not in line with the intention of God. There are really three major intentions, and three ways we can be out of line or go against them. One is saying something is not perfect, including when we want to “perfect ourselves.” This goes against God’s intention because what God has created is already perfect.
The second one is saying that God’s will isn’t any good, like saying, “I’ll tell you what God really has in mind for you.”
And the third way is to say that God’s creation isn’t any good, that we’re going to improve and perfect it for Him. Those are three ways of going against God’s will. When you say, “I’m going to do the best I can here; I’ll leave perfection to God,” you are in good territory.
If you’ve been listening to tapes, you’ve heard that what you start here in Christ will complete for you in the Heavens. The Holy Spirit will complete it for you. You don’t have to do it—you can’t do it, you don’t know how. But this Whole Spirit does know and will complete it for you. So what do we do? Be thankful for what you’ve got and that it’s being upgraded all the time anyway.

Q: Could you talk about listening to God?

J-R: You have to train yourself to go when God talks. You have to train yourself to hear that voice.
If I want my dog, I call him, “Gort!” And he’ll come right present, into the room and see what I want. That’s how I address him. I never address him when he can’t hear me. So I make sure that we’re in contact.
I trained him since he was a puppy, saying his name and touching him. Then I’d just say his name, “Gort,” and he’d turn around and look. He knew that was him. And I was his God.
My God has been doing that to me, but in a strange vocabulary called, health, wealth, happiness; loving, caring and sharing; and prosperity, riches and abindance; and touching other people with that.

Q: I got behind on reading Discourses because I kept looking for the perfect time to read the entire Discourse at one sitting.

JM: I probably went through several years before I was able to read an entire Discourse in one sitting. I’m not sure I made it until I had finished all 144 Discourses. If I could get in 3 or 4 pages in a sitting, that was pretty good. I was and am such a willing out-of-the-body initiate. I am so glad that I would be chosen to go with very little understanding or comprehension on my part. I just couldn’t stay here when I took on the Traveler consciousness. I’m not much better at it now, but I can sort of keep my eyes open more than I used to.
