Article imageDear Peacemaker,

I had the pleasure of updating the United Nations about a month ago on the work IIWP volunteers and supporters have been doing. 2) Missions of Peace

3) Book Release

4) Internet Expansion

5) Workshops for Adults and Youths

6) Windermere Ranch – A Place of Peace

If you are inspired to participate further or offer similar work in your community please contact us at peace@iiwp.org.

David Rodgers, Managing Director

1) Peace Presentations and Dedications

One of the activities of our supporters has been to make peace dedications in Madrid, Spain; Neuquen, Argentina; and New York, New York. In Madrid, a Peace Pole was planted as an event co-sponsored between IIWP and the World Peace Prayer Society.

2) Missions of Peace

IIWP Board members and key volunteers have traveled to various locations in recent months in related peace work with the people in the areas. IIWP board members traveled to New York during the September 11 crisis to visit volunteers, and individual peace workers and share support, gratefulness and inspiration with the many people they encountered.

John Morton recently traveled to Pakistan and Afghanistan as a multi-organization mission, which included organizations like Wheels for Humanity, the Institute for Individual and World Peace, Heartfelt Foundation, MSIA and others, under the sponsorship of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA). 3) Book Release — “Loving Each Day for Peacemakers”

Our founder and president, John-Roger, has just published a new book, released this month, called “Loving Each Day for Peacemakers. This book is being shared with organizations and individuals around the world and is being integrated in to our workshops and presentations for peace. Book events are being planned across the United States to address the need for bringing greater peace in our lives and our world.

4) Expansion of Internet Services

IIWP offers inspiration in our “Moments of Peace” messages. The messages are available to anyone with e-mail access to the internet and newcomers can also subscribe through the IIWP web site at www.iiwp.org.

In the last nine months, IIWP has launched its first “Introduction to Peace” e-mail class. Multiple sessions of the class start every six weeks. Participants register on-line and receive one class a week for three weeks in which they participate with 8-12 other people from around the world. The class is currently under development in other languages starting with Spanish. People who live in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Australia, Aruba, South Africa and Ecuador have attended these classes. This participation creates an immediate sense of intimacy and oneness across cultures and continents.

Also over the course of these months we hosted numerous visitors who came to find or reconnect with peace in themselves through the land, service work and our unique peace horse program.

7) Work by Individuals

We continue to receive updates of individuals who have touched into the processes of peace through the institute and who have gone on to share and be of service to people across the world. This has included: working with survivors of the September 11th events, individuals going into their communities, into the schools, into prisons, appearing on radio talk shows, and simply reaching out to others all around them to spread the message of peace.

We are grateful to be engaged in support of peace across our planet and to join with the UN Initiatives in this area. We look forward to the next step in our application for NGO status. May peace be in your heart and in your life as a true blessing and reality.
