On the Road with Angel Gibson and the MSIA Travel Staff in Bogota Colombia

Article image MSIA travel staff are currently in South America, providing MSIA Services (Innerphasings, Polarity Balances & Aura Balances) as well as MSIA events in various locations. Staff member, Angel Gibson, provides this update:

DAY 5 – Caracas to Bogota

Paul Kaye and I finish our stay in Caracas this morning doing a few MSIA Services. We say goodbye to Santos and Cesar and Virginia; we’re so grateful to them for all they have done to help our Services and workshop go so smoothly. Santos arranged for our driver, Milton, to escort us to the airport which we get to in record time. With ease and grace we move through immigration and security and find ourselves looking for some lunch. Paul spots an Ole restaurant and we’re delighted because we had enjoyed its sibling restaurant the day before. The lightness and joy of the people taking our orders soon led to more in depth conversing and in the “small world” category we find out that the owner of this Ole, Carlos Carpado, is a friend of Jacque Girou,(Insight facilitator and owner of the other Ole) and Carlos is also going to be the Team Captain of this week’s Insight I in Caracas. Carlos was also totally surprised to find out that the Paul Kaye standing in front of him was the very Paul Kaye he had listened to the day before on the Elba En Onde radio show. We’re that not fun enough, Paul and I couldn’t get over how much Carlos sounded and acted just like another of our dear friends, Jose Caraball. Not to mention our food was good too!

Well fed and having enjoyed our wonderful people moment, we stroll to the gates, get on our plane which actually took off 15 minutes earlier than the posted time (wow, glad we didn’t lollygag) and away we head for Bogota.

Once in Bogota we were met by Ani Pacheco who drove us through town and rush hour traffic to our hotel. It’s nice and comforting to be coming back to this hotel which has been our home in Bogota for several trips now. We know the drill and soon Paul and I have each settled into our rooms and are awaiting the return of Vincent, Lesley and Celia from their day of Services. Several hours of email and unpacking later, we hear familiar voices out in the hall and we have a little reunion which continues through dinner. We catch them up on our Caracas happenings, and they fill us in on their travel escapades, including their delayed flight from yesterday. We’re all a little tired tonight, and there are definitely more emails to do before we sleep, so off we go. Tomorrow is a day of Services and meetings, but for now it’s time to rest in God’s arms and take a breather for a few hours.

DAY 6 – If it’s Wednesday, it must be Bogota!

Rising and shining Celia and I begin today with some exercising. I head outside to run around the little park in front of our hotel. Slices of Bogota life are happening around this park with the construction workers hanging out, dog walkers minding their four-footed charges, little ladies taking their morning constitutionals, and the guard that sits in the guard box in the middle of the park. Celia tries for the gym, but it is closed for renovation, so she settles for stretching in our room. A little later we see Paul and Vincent breakfasting and preparing for the beginning of their 2 day long administrative meeting with MSIA Colombia. Hugging them goodbyes, Lesley, Celia and I head off with our handsome chauffeur, Alberto Arango. He deftly drives us to the S.E.D.E. where we are greeted by Ilse, Alberto’s wife. Ilse coordinates all the Services and does a terrific job, as it gets pretty wild at times. Olga Elena is there to help with translations, Zarita runs the S.E.D.E. so to speak and has been there ever since I first started coming to Bogota in the late 80’s.

We begin with initiations and head right into the rest of the day joined by Ani and Lana. I welcome lunch and we are well taken care of by Gustavo, our chef for the next few days. Today’s menu is steak and chicken with homemade spinach soup. Ah, it’s tough, but someone has to eat this good food. Then it’s back to Services, and then a little refreshing tea and postre “dessert”, and then more initiations. It’s 8:30 p.m. and we’re ready to head back to the hotel, do emails, and study our scripts for the upcoming workshops. We check in with the guys, and they’ve had a productive and long day too. All of us are ready for some quiet time and we walkie each other “good night and sweet dreams.” Hasta Manana.

DAY 7 — Bogota

Wow, today was busy. We started initiations at 11:00 a.m. Lesley, Celia, Ani and myself had Services from 12-7 p.m., and then there were another 2 hours of initiations. Paul and Vincent were in administrative meetings all day too. Olga Elena and Ilse were keeping pace with us and the changes to the schedule. Lunch was a pleasant breather. One exciting note–as we were doing Services mid-afternoon the thunderstorm turned into a huge hail storm. Little balls of hail plopped through the windows into my room and the clatter of the hail on the copper roof was deafening, but very exciting. No one could remember hail coming this early in the season. Now I’m back in my room, having a little crema de tomate and arepas (little corn pancakes). I’ll study a bit of the workshop and then it’s bedtime for me. Initiations start even earlier tomorrow. So amazing the number of initiations here, and the gratitude for having them is an outpouring of love. Night night.

DAY 8 — Bogota

We’re off and running full steam this morning with 2 hours of initiations for both Paul and me this morning and then a full day of Services until 7:00 p.m. when we begin the weekend events with the Open Evening of the Blessings with Celia facilitating. The SEDE is buzzing with activity as people coming in for initiations and registering for the weekend events and Services fill the house. By 7:00 p.m. we’re packed into cars and are speeding over to the Cosmos Hotel so that we’ll be there in time for the opening of the event. All is in readiness and the room is packed with more people piling in. I love seeing so many new faces. By the end of the evening there are almost 200 people in the room. Celia with her translator, John Marin, do a beautiful job of introducing MSIA and PTS to the new people attending the workshop. Then they go into the meat of the evening, inviting the participants to discover and be aware of the blessings already present in their lives and those blessings that are disguised. Olga Elena is our Team Captain for all the events this weekend and she has a wonderful crew working with her that includes Virginia Rojas, Leopoldo, Eusebio, Fabiola, Maria Teresa, Blanquita, and more shining assistants whose names I hope I remember for tomorrow’s report. Well, it has been a full day today and I must do a few more emails, study the script for the Living Love Workshop that begins tomorrow and grab some sleep. Keep the Light coming our way; we all appreciate this so much.

  1. WOW!
I’m checking in for the mundane. Laren Bright said to email you for a current list of
Ohio MSIA’ers. No rush….didn’t know you were out of the country working.
Wish we could be doing services and initiations. Have fun.
    Abundant Blessings,
    Dyan Tomczak
